i used to think the hymen was inside the vagina, not at the entrance, because learning anatomy from regency romance novels is a bad thing.

but on the other hand it was never, ever mentioned in health class, along with the clit, so at least i knew those things EXISTED before i started having sex. :T

I'm the vaginal-pee anon from the comment below, and I just want to angrily high-five you because school sex-ed was fucking terrible (romance novel anatomy is also terrible. All the anatomy knowledge school failed to fill me in on I later "learned" from fanfiction, which is possibly even worse)

health education is super fucked up, and even though there was literature around my house of Now That You Are Hitting Puberty and This Is How Babies Are Made and stuff like that, it was, like... even that stuff didn't really talk about the different parts of the parts, you know?

I'm British and trust me, sex ed is hardly any better at our comprehensive schools. Though I've heard America is varying levels of hyper-terrible depending on how close you are to the bible belt. High-fives for the apparently international curse which is shitty sex-ed!

I know what you mean about that stuff not talking about the different parts of parts. I couldn't distinguish my labia majora or labia minora until I was at least 17 or so. Also thanks to porn I first thought most women either didn't HAVE labia minora, or that they were meant to be super tiny. I didn't realise how much female anatomy varies, so I thought how much mine protruded was to do with masturbating too much or doing something wrong with my menstrual care.

You don't wanna be learning about the different parts of the parts through porn, that just turns you around even more. Schools need to get to kids with accurate sex ed info before they get a chance to be exposed to porn, because porn is the worst teacher. >8(
