Not true, actually! Yes, the company is different, but many of the people working on it, including the director (who, as mentioned above, did not work on 2), are the same. They simply moved over to Access Games after Cavia went belly up.

As for the game not being like the others, it depends on what you mean. They did change quite a few things, most notably not being able to jump on the dragon's back during ground play, but the core elements are all the same and it's still the same sort of experience. As for the story, I'd say it's a lot closer to Drakengard 1's than the other entries, though of course it doesn't come close to the original's WTF level.

Gets pretty close in some scenes though.
