Evangelion hits this on the head for me, but I know it's not the most popular choice or all that played from anymore.

Sadly, I don't play from Evangelion, though I do like it and would totally stalk your thread. I also play from a bunch of canons past their prime in terms of popularity, though, so I feel your pain.

One day I'll find a way. I'm too hooked up on having a good canon reason to make it work though, or a reasonable one in a what if way.

I'm guessing 90s stuff? I could do something animanga and video game, but I'm lacking on the live action front.

Yeah, pretty much 90s-00s animanga/video games. I typically play M/F (really just because I like the canon ships, there are a few M/M and F/F ones I play though), and most of my characters are men, if that matters any.

I've got a balance the two and M/F works fine with me. Shoot a PM and we might be able to work something out if we have a canon or two matching.
