I'm interested in the game and I'd have a character that hits 2/3 of these including being available to both m/m and m/f, but the amount of attention (and wank) this game gets keeps me away. Especially because I wouldn't want to play him as an exclusive top and this is a character where that always seems to spawn ... controversies. So, sadly, no. Guess I'm going to wait for a new sex game, should another ever open.

It's been said time and time again that our anoncomm threads aren't reflective of the game culture. It's true you get a lot of shitstirring here, but as has always been the case diving into the wank is always your own choice and I've never seen anyone get bullied out of the game before.

We're also kind of geared on purpose towards the controversial so I really don't see how you choose to play your character in the bedroom makes much difference, assuming it isn't stupidly OOC for them... and you really have to try hard to manage that considering how the game's set up.

App or don't app, it's up to you, but Ariel is one of the chillest games I've ever joined and I don't think your magical wank-free under the radar sex paradise is ever going to happen, sorry.

anon, as someone who was on his plurk at the time, that's actually not the whole story (as usual).

p. much by the time the wank happened he was to run out of steam, plus in a couple of weeks he was going to be out of the country for a few months, and was considering just dropping instead of taking a hiatus.

when he got the crit he did consider trying to fix robb's characterization since he realized it was spot on, but considering he wasn't feeling the game anymore and not even going to be around for a while, he decided that it'd be better to just drop.

i don't know if you knew it or not but the silver was growing increasingly uncomfortable with staying in the game and especially reaching out for new cr. and it's not really 'a little whining', especially when it goes on for over a year, when anons keep asking when they'll drop, nitpicking threads that they do, or just keep wanking and bringing them up in Ariel threads so other anons can dogpile on how much silver sucked. they didn't feel welcome in the game for a long, long while.

i've read every ariel thread since wg opened and all the whining about silver was petty wg usual "why are they playing what i don't like" whining, so i'm not buying the harassment angle

the silver also didn't do themselves any favors logging in to get snotty with anons every time they were brought up instead of shutting the fuck up and keeping their head down either

imo they brought a lot of that anon attention on themselves by being so reactive

I have yet to see anyone actually throw a fit over someone playing a usual top as a switch either, most people enjoy playing with them on either side and you will always find someone willing to top them because of that

Honestly, all sex games are going to get this sort of attention. It comes with rping smut. If you're truly worried about your name, do it as a sock. No one will give two fucks and all wank will be about your sock.

I love this game but despite people claiming that the actual game is wank-free and visibly chill, there's a lot of tension underneath the surface.

The reason why people seem to be on their best behavior is because if they aren't, they're immediately namedropped or dragged out on the anon comms.
