Shut up

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

i know i'm getting butthurt over nothing but

i can't comprehend why musicians would shit out generic-ass music

do they think it's good or at least "decent"? are they just trying to fill space on cds?

i checked out imagine dragons' discography and aside from the top singles (and a few other songs), i literally can't tell any of these songs apart

radioactive/it's time/demons (and a few others) feel like they've had effort put into them. the rest... no, terrible, mediocre. most of it's just generic rock, guys singing and playing guitars with a slightly different beat

because they have a style and an 'image' to cultivate

people listen to imagine dragons to hear imagine dragons, so of course all the songs are goign to sound the same. you aren't gonna hear a fifteen minute narrative rap on the latest dragonforce CD.

a band you like: wow they have such a unique sound and style
a band you don't like: ugh all their songs sound the same

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
nice try

most of the bands i like have plenty of "generic" songs that sound like they wrote them in 10 minutes

Literally every time Sting tries a new genre people faint and weep that his sound is ruined forever. The same shit every time is more reliable.

because it's motherfucking WORK

i'll never understand this complaint. people will tell you that as an adult you need a job, any job, matter what, wirk in mcdonalds if necessary

but god firbid an actor/actrees works in a bad movie then it becomes WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS TO THEMSELVES/THE INDUSTRY

let's stop being in favor of ~real art~, anyone would join a generic band with repetitive sings for the money

sa

change many of those Is for Os

fucking phone

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 10:10 am (UTC)(link)
because they're paid to make music and probably don't have enough great ideas to fill a whole album, but are still contractually obligated to release one?

+1

and the musicians aren't the only ones with creative input, there are producers etc. to please

Sometimes changing sounds just didn't work - look at Garth Brook's attempt at making a concept album, lord that was a train wreck.

Sometimes artists find that groove they like - and will ride it long as it tickles them
