Hi in the interest of breaking anonhate. I'm not Skyla or whomever and I have never had a problem with Adachi or his player. Tagged with them and they're cool.

Nope, but:

1. It's an AU. Which I guess can only do so much before you might as well be playing an OC, but let's be a bit flexible here.

2. There's a big difference between "this character is OOC" and "this player is awful and their playing is awful and anyone who defends them must be their buttbuddy". We're kind of firmly into the latter here.

Actually, I think an AU where Adachi had the same personality but Souji started off the killings before he could would be incredibly interesting. I'd love to see it. But Skyla isn't writing/playing it that way.

His goofy exterior is much less an act and more genuine in this story, however he is still an asshole at heart, and because of his crappy attitude, it takes him much longer to progress than it does for the canon protagonist."

What Skyla doesn't realize is that Adachi's personality isn't because of the role he plays in the story. That doesn't even make sense. Rather, the role he plays in P4 is because of his personality. The fact that Adachi feels shunned by the world, jealously hates with a passion everyone with talent/people who can make something of themselves, and is incredibly terrible to women are core parts of his character. Changing those things changes the character completely, and he's no longer recognizable. If I were to read those tags and strip away the names and icons, I can think of two other characters I might guess and neither of them are anything at all like Adachi.

AU isn't supposed to change core things about characters. I am being more than a "bit" flexible about this. There are certain things that make characters who they are.

also, i'm the "I don't care about the player the character is awful" anon, so I can't really answer your second point.

You might have some points (I don't know enough to tell), and maybe there's room for a HMD comment and some improvement, but there is definitely someone around here who's violently grudgewanking and it shows.

Maybe you & I are just reading different tags. But the shunned feeling & the jealousy have still come through to me loud and clear. The misogyny not so much, but surprise surprise, few people want to play that / make other players uncomfortable with that.

I don't think you can play Adachi if you're not comfortable at least making that stuff clear at some point.

But you bring up a good point. I'm going to read more of her tags and I'll go see what I can do - although I have to admit that I'm a little hesitant, because she's demonstrated an inability to take crit well in the past. Oh well. No skin off my back if she doesn't like what I have to say, I guess.

We really, really are. I haven't even tagged with Adachi, and I definitely don't know the canon, but this is so obviously butthurt grudgewank it's not even funny.

Critique is one thing. Can be helpful. THIS PERSON IS DUMB AND I DON'T LIKE HOW THEY PLAY BUT WON'T ELABORATE is kind of... something else entirely.
