How easy it is to lose tablet pens. My wacom pen would cost a couple of hundred dollars to replace if it got broken, so it's always frustrating when it disappears to realms beyond imagination (asides from the fact I can't use it when it's missing, either). At least I've never misplaced it outside of my home, but I honestly do not know how it disappears like that. Obviously I put it down somewhere stupid, but I can never remember letting go of it

very specific pet peeve time.

a friend of mine spent a year abroad. i'm genuinely glad that she got to have that awesome experience, and it makes me happy to know that it was fun for her all around.

but that shit happened two years ago and she just won't stop bringing it up, no matter how unrelated or off-topic it is. she brings it up whenever just the two of us meet, and she brings it up whenever we get together with our mutual friends. it's gotten to the point where all it takes is her mentioning the country's name and conversation just stops completely because everyone is that sick of hearing about it.

she always ends up telling the same bloody stories, too, which really doesn't make it more interesting.

Being told how to do my job, being told how to do something I know how to do, being led about so the person lying comes off innocent, someone saying "we could do blah blah/is there any way we could do blah blah" when "we" means me, people being passive-aggressive, people taking stuff off ny work truck without telling me, people eating my food, pretty much everything really.

Flatmates eating my food without asking. I wouldn't mind sharing at all, assuming it's a mutual thing, and hell, an egg, some milk, and half a packet of noodles here and there won't be the end of me.

But they don't fucking ask. Or hell, just let me know. A fucking text saying "took two eggs, xoxo roommate" would be enough! That way I could stop by the store before it closes and get some more if I need them that night or the next day. Fucking hell.

Also: people touching my things without asking. Just don't. Where you raised in a barn.

Waiting for piercings to heal before I can wear the decorative jewellery I want. I have THE CUTEST new bellbars but I can't use them for another five months. It's worth waiting and keeping the jewellery you were pierced with in place in order to avoid tearing the delicate skin inside the fistula, but I'm an impatient person and want to wear my new bars now already.

People parking their cars on the sides of the road in a community that has huge driveways.

Like damn, I can understand if the driveway's been filled up, that's one thing. But goddamn, for the life of me, I cannot figure out why in the place where I live in, some of the neighbors never use it and just park on the side instead, and it's really fucking tedious having to navigate through this mess and hope that no other cars come down the road.

When people walk the wrong way on the sidewalk. Like generally people walk on the right side because we drive on the right side. STICK TO IT, GAWD.

When you bake something to the amount of time a recipe directs but it's not done yet so you have to guess as to how long you'd leave it in for more.

When tea leaves seep out of the tea infuser. (speaking of which, any 'nons have good tea infusers?)

Being endlessly asked why I don't have a job yet despite filling out multiple (five to ten, depending on the day) applications in a day and following up all the time. Like, I'm sorry, there's just no jobs in our area right now.

people who can't unglue their cell phone from their ear long enough to speak directly to someone serving them. i've seen people conduct entire transactions in stores and restaurants while only half paying attention because they're busy chatting on the phone. it's rude.

also, people who can't regulate the volume of their phone and/or their voice so you hear every word of their conversations. i've overheard far more about strangers than i ever wanted to because people will walk around literally screaming into their mouthpieces. bonus points if they're getting poor reception so the conversation goes something like "Hello? HELLO? What's up, I can barely hear- HELLO?? HELLO???? Yeah, the reception here su- HELLO? YOU THERE? HELLO? CAN YOU HEAR ME? CAN YOU HEAR ME? I'M ON THE BUS. I SAID I'M ON THE BUS. THE BUS." smdh just hang up and call them back later

in grocery stores, all my hatred for people who do one or more of the following: 1. move in clusters 2. leave their cart in front of something while they walk to the other end of an aisle (or a different aisle entirely) to grab something 3. spend 15 minutes waiting at the cashier and wait til the cashier gives them their total before they dig in their purse for their wallet/shopper's card/cash l 4. block up an aisle 5. let their kids wreck the place and laugh like it's hilarious that the employees will have to clean up their mess and throw away merchandise their little darlings destroy

Cashiering at a lunch place. Locking eyes with a customer. Saying hello and how was your day.

Getting immediate dead-eyed stare and recitation of food names.

I know they ain't here to small talk with the cashier but at least starting that with "I'm gonna get a..." would grate on me a little less.
