How do people go about looking for icons for a particular character these days? I suck at making LA icons and I'm sick of trying to get them to look good but I don't have a clue where to begin looking for ready-made ones now that LJ is mostly dead to fandom and there aren't really DW icon comms like there used to be on LJ. I've tried googling a bit but that hasn't helped and the character in question isn't especially obscure so I don't think that's the problem.

if live action, insanejournal or hollow art (a lot of the makers there do screencaps now)

in general, try tumblr

thanks. how do I go about finding them on tumblr? searching my character's name just gets me gifs and other images. I didn't think tumblr was really into the 100x100 icon thing

try going to google and just searching "character name icons tumblr" or using the "site:tumblr.com character name icons" trick. a surprising amount of people have switched to posting their icons over there.

also, on insanejournal, look at wikicon and search the memories by actor name.

oh, that's easier than I thought. I did that for insanejournal but I thought it wouldn't help on tumblr considering the bizarre ways posting seems to work there.

most likely you can find your character there if theyre from an la show. just go through the tags you think most likely match them and go through it all.

also you can do this:

site:insanejournal.com ~actor's name on google.
