Anything really, she's really different from my usual type so I'm having trouble getting started with rping her.

i only played me2 jack a while back so any character advice i could give you would be sadly dated but just in general? make up a list of insults, threats, and bitchy things to say and consult it later down the line whenever you're looking for a threat/insult/bitchy thing to insert into her dialog. as graphic as you can, as many as you can think of. it really helps

Mostly apparent in ME2, she's complicated in that she enjoys sex casually because she's actually scared of attachments. Romancing Jack actually gives you a pretty good insight to her characterization. I assume you may have already, but if not, I would look into that. Once she places complete trust and emotion into someone, this is a private and important thing to her; if you betray her, she will NEVER forgive you.

In ME3, she softens a bit because she has a purpose that's beyond her own self-serving, hating needs. She has a group to protect and take care of. That's important. She's still kind of a bitch, but she's mellowed out with a better balance to her anger, because she can channel her anger to something far more productive.

Things to remember:

She is not rude/profane/destructive for shock value. She does it deliberately to keep people at arm's length, and then when she likes them she swears out of fondness. None of it is "look at me I'm swearing I'm a cool kid." It has a purpose. Don't just throw insults/swears into everything please. Zaeed swears for the fun of it, for the shock value, just to swear. She doesn't have a clean mouth, not by a long shot, but she doesn't just run around going "Shit shit shit what the shit?!?"

She has a purpose. Jack is not idle. Her first chance to escape gets taken, she joins the crew to get data, and when we see her in three she's active as well.

Jack generally doesn't care what people think. If someone random starts insulting her, she's far more likely to go "psh, not worth my time," roll her eyes, flip them off, and walk away. She's not going to get into dickwaving contests unless it's someone she actually does not like.

To get her to take a strong liking to someone takes time. Less if you pull her from 3. To get her to take an actual dislike to someone does not take as long. Be prepared for a fair bit of negative CR with her. Her attitude isn't one for the sake of edgy, it serves the purpose of protecting her, but it's still very present.
