Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

I honestly have no idea what I'm doing with this nonsense.

I've been toying with making an OC based off an original Wild Arms setting, but they would be resigned to a life of Dear Player and random memes so I'm waffling a bit.

Hey man, I'd love to see more Weird West/Desert Punk type characters, and there are games that do accept OCs!

i played this one oc in a game for ~2 years and got a buncha cr bc he was super social, and i just apped the younger version of him to a game that has a bunch of crau carry overs from the first game. he currently has none of the life experiences that made him into a somewhat decent person, remembers none of his friends, and is an outrageous dick to pretty much everyone he runs into. i'm having so much fun. c:

College student who fell prey to a serial killer while on spring break and whose corpse was found and repurposed by a witch with what basically amounts to a petty vendetta against an ex-boyfriend. She gets resurrected with her personality intact because the witch's powers have been more or less bound by her ex; unfortunately the witch still has the ability to send her back to the grave so she's stuck hunting down the ex and getting sucked into magic politics.

Later on she runs into a former classmate who is now in his thirties and has too much of a conscience to let her wander through all this by herself. They accidentally and accidentally-on-purpose solve supernatural murders along the way.

Not to be mean, but I wish you'd put something like this on her profile. I was thinking about tagging her back on a bakerstreet meme earlier because I dig ocs and she looked cool, but there was 0 information available so I couldn't figure out how to begin a thread.

Ironically I did just that earlier today! I am unfortunately lazy when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Since I replied already to someone else.

Virgil here is from an alternate 1869 Dakota territory where elves exist (with psychic powers), and there are humans fully capable of using elemental-based magic, and magical bullets made from meteorites - magical properties were discovered on accident when Confederates were using anything they can get their hands on to supplement their dwindling munitions supply.

Virg is a federal marshal, possesses psychometry (the ability to read emotion/memories off of objects), and tends to be the friendly local law man but willing to throw someone in the pokey if they step out of line, and can't bluff for beans.

Pathfinder OC!

Tiefling daughter of a notable cleric/cult leader of Asmodeus and a middle-management-tier pit fiend, an accidental encounter with some kids outside of the cult led to her fostering a disney-princess-esque desire to see more of the outside world. (Also made her wonder if people outside reacted so badly to her while she was venerated within the group if that was right.) Ollied out in her equivalent late teen/young adult years with the help of a handily-timed group of adventurers raiding the culthouse, and lent them a hand after being convinced by their leader.

Ran with them a bit, found a busted old gun while on a quest. Bad party reactions to it plus it smelling sulfur-y like her lead to her imprinting a bit much on it. Eventually parted ways with that group, and is headed for a fledgling kingdom founded by oddballs and misfits in hope of having an accepting home because people generally are not very keen on tieflings.

Oh boy an excuse to info dump!

This is Ella. She's a typical 'Fairy tales are real' OC in which only fairy tales (known as Tales because hah original) exist in this world.

Tales are all from another place call the Hearthlands where people like them, or creatures or objects of significant magic, and normal people existed and coexisted in peace most of the time. Their stories were known to those from the Plains, Earth, because the authors and the storytellers who told them? Saw them in dreams and flashes when asleep since they were In Between, people who had one foot in the Hearthlands and one foot in the Plains for some mysterious reason. Nothing special happens if their story is wildly popular or known. It's just known, more or less, since the stories can go under major revisions sometimes. (Example: The Big Bad Wolf or Wolves found in stories all the time? They're a clan of elemental spirits that were cursed in human form thanks to a powerful Tale witch. Explaining )

The Hearthlands eventually became Corrupt, plants died and water turned foul and weather went crazy, so a lot of the Tales had to flee to the Plains and have existed among humans ever since. They live in plain sight most of the time, a lot of them using glamour spell or objects they bought from magical Tales to mingle among the humans without issue.

Ella here is none other than Pinocchio 'himself' with her story going under a lot of revisions since the original version was a lot more harrowing and too shocking to be published. On her ship that was going through the Seas in Between, one of the Big Bad Wolves on board went nuts despite her and her brother/father/creator, Geppetto, backing him up earlier. The ship capsized during his rampage and Ella lost sight of her beloved brother in the waters and has been looking for him since.

These days she lives in London, using a glamour necklace to hide her appearance. The Cricket, James Hopper, is still her guardian after she found him again in the 1960s and she also has Klaus, one of the Big Bad Wolves, being a self-appointed one out of apology since he separated the siblings who had backed him up and let him get on the ship in the first place. She works as a private detective for Tales and humans who have connections, solving weird cases before the humans detect them. When not in work she looks for any clues for Geppetto because he has to be alive dammit!

She has some magical abilities but they're limited and not all that impressive in terms of powers/strength. (Mostly uses them as tracking spells and shushing her footsteps when on a trail.) Ella is also made from wood that originated from a fae forest that was also blessed by a oddly nice fae before being handed over by her brother to use. This allows her to be fire resistant but she's also heavy as fuck as a result meaning she isn't the biggest fan of deep bodies of water.
