Your last sentence, isn't that exactly what OP would like to see happen? They are disappointed because it seems to come by to other players but not them.

probably because they're coming off as being ship-hungry, tbh. there's a difference between letting a ship happen for a character sort of as the icing on the cake - as in you're happy playing the character with or without a ship - and actively wanting to hook your character up with someone. it's usually easy to tell when someone is the latter and it can make it difficult to interact with the character.

This brings us back to needing the OP to stop being an entitled whiny brat which I doubt will happen.
