there's just not a lot happening at luceti right now to draw in new players, honestly. games where stuff is actively happening are getting more reserves and apps currently, but until the hinted draft stuff starts our plot up again, we're probably not going to see a lot of action.

besides the lack of game plot currently, we're a journal game, and that's a big no for a lot of people so it can make it hard for us to get new blood. especially when we can't say "oh there is x y and z happening currently!" to offset that, you know?

don't get me wrong, i like luceti, but it's really been getting more and more boring of late. you can do player plots to your heart's content, but we're getting even more slice of life than ever with the lack of any real non cracky events since the invasion plot. i think that was the last "oh hey here's the game plot back to say hi" event, yeah?

honestly the game would attract a lot of players if it turned community, which may sound silly but when you see how many people on ATP specify "no journal games" then you got to reconsider changing the format. at some point you got to face facts and realize games being community-based has become the norm. but the mods seem very unrelenting on this.

like im pretty sure the only other journal base game beside luceti is route_29.

though the lack of plot is really what kills it. luceti is just a glorified sandbox at this point and if the mods and players want it that way then fine, but lets drop the promises of plot coming when so little has come of it since Masa stepped down and dropped.

I agree the plot is what's killing it. November - February have always been holiday events with a lack of substance. Four months is already hard enough to get through, but the last plot important thing we had on a wide scale was in October?

That's what's sucking about it for me. I could care less about it being a community game. At this point I don't think a switch would do anything to keep people, and attracting new blood is worthless if nothing is happening.

a switch at this point wouldn't do much but alienate the current playerbase as it is. just think of the time as them working to a fresh start of sorts. it'll come together full circle.

But it also alienated the old playerbase to be what it is. I dropped a while ago and keep checking back in to see if anything interesting has popped back up.

Give older players a reason to return.

anon above you was just talking about it being journal based. how did it staying journal based alienate older players...?

at this point i'm not sure changing it to community based would help. it is one of the reasons people have always had trouble recruiting to luceti, but it's more the "nothing is happening, full stop" thing that doesn't help further. people can be enticed into journal games if there's plot or something else they like.

it's harder to entice people into a community based game where nothing happens and it has no real selling points but "we have wings" to set it apart from other games.

granted it is doubly hard to entice people into a journal based game where that's the case, but.

basically i think that the journal based thing makes it harder to recruit, but i actually don't think changing would help us much, like your last line says. what's killing luceti right now is the lack of plot.

TBF, the mods did tease an upcoming draft, so maybe they're going to try getting things going again?

they didn't just tease it, they outright confirmed we're getting one in a couple of weeks.

they confirmed it like above anon said, but until things do get going again, we really can't expect a huge amount of apps
