Oh beautiful, for spacious posts
Rundown:
rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.
Rules:
Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

au supervillain/hero school game idea

and I've had some more ideas for it. Again, inspiration for the Superhero and Supervillain school taken from the movie Sky High and the comic book Necessary Evil. Wouldn't exactly be a serious game, but wouldn't be a crack game either.
Characters can apply to either school themselves or be recruited. Being recruited can be done in different ways. A character's lineage could lead to either school inviting them to join. For instance if it is found out by one of the schools that they have a mother, father, grandparent, etc, that used to be a hero or villain, they could invite them.
If perhaps there was some event or something on the news that brought them to either schools eye, they could invite them.
Another option could be by way of an Oracle. In this case, the Oracle would be neither good nor evil and they would have visions of potential students for either school. They may see that the student in question will be a great hero or villain or something that they might do in the future would have a great effect on the world. Or the Oracle could see that one day in the future, the person would bring them breakfast or would hold a door open for them at some point but they have to be at the school to do that.
No one would ever know what the Oracle sees, but the Oracle would just give either school the name of said person as a potential recruit. They could screw up and give the wrong name to the wrong school, though. Still need to kind of flesh this out.
As for powers, any student entering the school wouldn't need one. If a person would like their character to specialize in hand-to-hand combat or the use of gadgets similar to Batman, then they could go that route.
Even if someone wants their characters to have abilities, but don't want them to enter the game with them active, that could be done. They could have latent powers and the player could choose when they want them to be revealed.
If someone apped a character and gave them no powers, they could still be given powers later on. For example, for Villain students they could volunteer for the school’s mad scientist to test out some of his experimental power granting concoctions on them. A player could suggest their own power or have the mods present them with at least three power options that they could choose from. Whichever option is taken, both the mods and the player would have to agree on the power before it could be said that the character has it.
Powers being granted by an item is an option too. For example, a character has a Trident that they found or was given to them somehow and that Trident gives them the power of flight and water manipulation. Something like that would be allowed.
