rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. Interested in the game but not sure who I want to app yet. What are things I should know? What do you wish you'd known before you apped?

It's pretty friendly with a lot of things going on. That being said, not all of those things you have to worry about. There is a journal system, yes, but the part that makes the game work is sticking with your crew. A well run crew will go on island adventures, jump in on the navy or in other battles and leave you a LOT to work with, but you're only working with your crew.

It might seem like you'll get less CR that way, but there are other ways to get more CR if you need, and the bonds you make with your crew are always pretty fantastic.

If you are apping a Lone canon Warrior, make sure you get in on the Looking For Crew and make plans for joining some crew. If you are apping in a Castmate, you'll no doubt end up with that cast mates current crew (not in all cases), so make sure you check out the crew first to see if you think you'll like it.

ACs are simple. Bi Monthly and easy requirements. It takes some of the stress off your shoulders.

What I wished I knew? No answer for this. I read the game info, read the opening log and honestly it's everything I wanted. If you ever get behind, people in my crews tend to be really friendly about helping you meet AC or Backtagging too. Events and islands can be serious or crack. Nothing is forced on you. Most crews tend to be diplomatic as well, asking players what they want.

I'd say to find a character you enjoy playing in a fun setting first. If you want to pick up harder to integrate characters later you'll at least have a support system of players from the first character to help you work the hard ones in else where.
