So apparently a couple of kids can travel from the castles to the station all by themselves in a few days? Seems like a waste of the setting.

which would be incorrect and should be pointed out to them. it's 8 weeks from one castle to the other by horse and the station's not exactly in the middle, but i'd say it'd take anywhere from 3-4 weeks to get there, unless they have a faster means of transportation. there's already a question in the faq about different times for arrival vs horse/car/creature with super speed, so unless they have one of those, that's highly not okay.

did they ride? go on foot? teleport?

reading the log says one skate boarded (...?) hitchhiked (+1...?) and used speed bursts. it should still have taken a while longer to get there. i'm not sure about the second since it seems they're using magic for speed bursts and if a tvd vampire can make it from one castle to the other in a week or so, the kids should be able to make it there in a few days to a week depending on the speed bursts?

i think maybe there needs to be a bit more of a gamewide mention of just how long it would take to get places because i'm expecting to see a lot of people just winding up at the station without making it an actual journey type thing.

But the speed magic seems to be something he just picked up which makes it a stretch.

The speed is just one part of the problem. It's also weird that one person (especially a kid) could travel alone without running into any serious trouble on the way. It's supposed to be a dangerous land with monsters and stuff... I really don't like the precedent this sets.

i agree. either bring it to the mods' attention or maybe pm the player, w or w/o a sock, and point out that maybe they need to put together a party or something to go to the station instead of just assuming that it was a breeze to get there.

as someone who wants to work out a feasible way to travel around without getting my character eaten, this does rub me a little wrong. it's starting out a precedent of 'monsters? fuck monsters' and while i can understand that they wanna play what they wanna play, they also need to adhere to game rules. and the game says you can't just go strolling around like that like it ain't no thang.

I left the player a message... hope they take it into consideration.

The players were really cool about it and decided to take the log down for now.
