Super Robot Wars Unification

SRWU is a multi-fandom crossover DWRP inspired by Super Robot Wars, a popular franchise of turn based strategy games based on giant robot combat. In our game, player characters become members or close allies of the Unity Group, an organization dedicated to battling many threats that endanger the Earth Sphere, both internal and external - aliens invaders, rampaging monsters, hostile human groups and many more.

In SRWU, events play out not only as DW posts, but also during AIM-run missions - combat operations during which player characters engage enemy forces in battle. Such missions are always scheduled in advance (from a RL perspective, not necessarily an IC one) and usually last 3 hours each, with an average of 2 missions being run per week, 6 to 8 player character combatants present in each mission.

Unlike crossover games that whisk characters away from their canons and place them in a completely new setting, SRWU integrates the characters' canons together - their events play out during the course of the game. However if one so decides, there is an option to app a character without any corresponding canon events.

Although SRWU is a mecha game, non-giant robot canons are also accepted if they fit thematically. OCs are also accepted.

The game is not out yet, and opens on Friday, April 18th. However recruitment is already open, and apps are being accepted. Don't miss out!

Choice of Romance

I'm putting together things for a game based on the Choice of game series, specifically Choice of Romance. Basically, you go to court for a season a year (with other things to fill the time or have it be year-round courting), you flirt and you romance and you find true love. Alternative, you flirt, you romance and you gain power and/or backstab everyeone. There's some politics involved with a king and the surrounding nations that could be worked into the game.

Characters with powers would be reworked into Death Mages and Life Mages, maybe with some slight alterations. Death Mages are power houses that do great damage, Life Mages obviously do life magic like healing and has the potential for mind control, which can be resisted.

I'm thinking people can AU their characters to fit in with the setting, although if people prefer they can just pop into the world or choose to go there. The amount of wealth a person has can be RNG'd by the mods for fairness and randomness and the characters can work their way up or fall down into the cracks of despair.

I guess basically it would be one big shipping game, fairly slice of life with the opportunity for action and power grabbing. I'm excited to work on it but I figured I should ask if anyone would even be interested before I pour too much energy into it? I know a lot of people may find it boring, but I'm perfectly okay if it ends up being a small game. I just can't play by myself, and I'd love to play in this kind of setting with others.

Online or off? If it's online vague plurks complaining about feeling left out or upset about something they "can't talk about" timed shortly after anything you post where you're plotting or planning with other people or generally having a good time. Especially if they avoid your plotting plurk or only have a token presence then leave. General PA behavior toward you when you know you haven't said or done anything rude to them.

Offline it's easier to see with expressions and body language. If they fake smile or close off whenever you mention doing things without them or enjoying yourself with other people. If they change the subject or make catty comments, or give you left handed compliments.

I haven't been jealous in friendships since around middle school. I was pretty PA and stupid about it until I realized I was driving away my friends by acting like a little shit. I guess I just grew out of it.

I feel this, anon. I hate doing writing samples, especially first person.

sometimes it helps if the app gives you some kind of prompt to work off of, even if it's just something like, "write about your character's reaction to arriving in the game." but most apps don't do that.

I do! I listen to a lot of Big Finish, specifically their Doctor Who range and the Confessions of Dorian Grey, though I'm starting to get into their Sapphire and Steel stuff (and making this super obvious to those who know me).

I want to drop character A I'm playing in my game and app in their friend, character B, instead. Most people don't know much about A's past, but a few close CR would recognize B because due to game mechanics they've seen some of A's past. So A's closest CR would probably look after B and tell everyone who B is in relation to A.

I don't mind this, but it feels like a social faux pas because people will inevitably talk to B about things A did and I played/am playing A. Would this bother you if someone did it in your games, anons?

So long as B isn't trying to pull A into every conversation they have with other characters, I think it should be fine.

You might get one or two nitpicky jerks who make a snide comment about it, but screw those guys, man. Screw those guys. They'd find something to pick at no matter what you do.
