I heard from someone (not Shanon) from Tatsuya/Jun was considered by the creators to be the canon route for P2, as opposed to Tatsuya/Maya. Can anyone provide confirmation?

I haven't seen this, but I know the official anthologies and 4koma lean more heavily toward Jun. Either way, just like with the other games, I think it still depends on player preference. If I played Minato I wouldn't ever ship him with Aigis (and it is only partially because of Stormy).

I don't know how good the SMT/Persona wikias are, but they might be able to provide something more concrete.

there's this (http://www.chthonian.net/persona/tsumi/characters/tatsuyaisgay.html) interview, which kind of leans toward it being canon via word of god. like another anon said, a lot of the side materials (the drama cds especially, iirc) hint at it, too.

so, if nothing else, it's definitely the favorite among the staff.

hinted at by the staff here and there but just like every other Persona ship it's both supported and denied by canon based on how you choose to play the main character.

From what I've looked at so far, it's what the others have said; There's no definitive canon pairing, but the creators definitely have their favorites (Jun and Tatsuya, for the most part). The Errors of Their Youth CD also seems to favor it. Personally, it's also the one that I like the most, but nothing's 100% set in stone, as far as information we are given.

However the later world books in the series, the P1 and P2 world books are pretty ship-aware too: they have entire sections of pages dedicated just ships and ship fanart. In the Innocent Sin World book, TatsuyaxJun has 4 pages in Jun's pages (that page is actually where the interview listed by an anon is from, actually!) Eikichi x Miyabi has one, Maya's pages seem to mostly have group stuff but in the EP book there's four pages of her with Tatsuya four others with Katsuya, two pages of Tatsuya and Jun, two of Tatsuya and Lisa, and even some Ulala and Baofu, amongst others (there's even some Kandori and Chizuru, in the 'rumors' section).

The P1-P2 world book also has "Unrequited Love" where they list the pairings that are mostly one-sided (but can change depending on what you pick as a protagonist). That one includes Katsuya and Tatsuya in relation to Maya (meaning they both had unrequited love for her) as well as Lisa unrequited love for Tatsuya.
