Why do people act like you killed their grandma if you say you put ketchup on your hot dog?

i get getting mad about ketchup on things that really should not be ketchuped (why would you do it to a steak, frex), but if you don't put it on hot dogs, what do you put it on???

ketchup-less hot dogs are chicago hot dogs ime so that's hot dog plus onions, sliced tomato, relish (the electric greener the better), mustard, celery salt, and in some places, sport peppers. usually on a bun with those little black seeds and served to you by an ancient old woman, sometimes a man

no ketchup because there's already sliced tomatoes on it + ketchup is gross. and we are pretty elitist about no ketchup, it's just our thing.
