Unfunny wanky stereotypes

do you play from your favorite canons, or canons you enjoy but wouldn't consider your favorite?

and do you play your favorite characters within those canons?

1st one, and yes. I have a much lower than average number of muses, so that might affect things.

the latter (mostly), for canons. i play from one canon i'd consider in my top 5.

and yes for characters. i tend to have only one "favorite" per canon, it works out.

only one of the canons i'm playing from in games is among my favorites and i'm playing my second favorite character from it (used to play my favorite but they don't fit in well in my current games)

most of the characters i play are my favorites from the canon tho

i play a lot of characters from series i can't stand, because it allows me to "rescue" them from their awful canons. i don't really have a favorite canon, so i guess i usually just play from canons i enjoy. i almost always play my favorite character.

yes to all three

i dont know what my favorite canon even is... never thought about it until this question was asked.

but i almost always pick up my favorite character or second favorite character, yes. when i played from digimon i picked my second favorite character instead and he ended up becoming the favorite.

i play a very specific type, and as long as a character fits my type i don't have to be super fond of the canon

actually i have several characters from canons i have a lot of problems with, though obviously i need to like it enough to watch it all the first time & then be willing to canon review

the characters who fit my type are often in my top few favorites for the canon, though.

idk i generally enjoy every canon i get into, and don't really have one or two overall favorites. they're all cool in their own ways

from those canons i generally pick up characters i like, yes. but my absolute favorite characters are also characters that i'm too terrified to pick up bc i know i wouldn't be able to do them justice

of current game muses 3/5 are from canons I really loved
1/5 is a canon I can't stand and wanted to rescue the character from
and 1/5 is a canon I enjoyed but didn't adore, it def has some problems

and yeah, the ones I play do tend to be favorites

I play from favorite canons and the characters I play end up my favorites from playing them. I don't get muses from all my favorite canons though.

the characters that end up sticking around the longest are generally from the canons i hold most fondly, though "favorite" depends on what kind of favorite you're asking me about

i have multiple favorites, but i like them for different reasons, y'know? even with, like, my video game canons-- i'll like THIS one because it examines the idea of a protagonist who performs evil actions to try and do something noble, but i'll like THIS one because i just really like the characters and the the logic puzzles, while that one over there i find the universe-building and the mix of really funny dialogue and truly heart-wrenching drama makes for a really potent game that I can't help but think about and compare other games to...

none of these are bad reasons to consider a game my "favorite", but they're all very different ones.

definitely characters from my favorite canons. always my favorite character, why would I play one that I don't care for?

(Anonymous) 2014-02-28 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Favorite canons, yes. Favorite characters, some of them.

Usually, a character becomes my favourite because I play them.

i play from some of my favorite canons. i almost always pick up my favorite character.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-01 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
mostly favorite canons, and the second is totally random. i'm one of those people who has to "ping" someone, and if it's not my favorite character, i'll fall flat if i try them.

right now i am, but in the last canon, it was a character i barely noticed until i suddenly had to play her right that instant.
