Anyone have any thoughts on the Luceti Alliance? I was thinking of getting one of my characters involved when the next CTA goes up and I'm curious about what other people might be thinking about it.

It's exciting, but I'm wary about how it's being handled. I'm waiting to see how it turns out before I throw any of my characters in.

It looks fun, but I want to see how it pans out before putting forward any of my characters.

I'm also worried about how much the alliance seems to cover. I don't know how much the Blue Rogues/Brave Vesperia did back back when they were around, but looking at that alliance post makes me wonder if they're trying to do too much.

I think Brave Vesperia is still around, but they just do more "hey, ask us to do a thing and we'll do it." I don't follow a lot of the groups like BV, so I might be wrong.

It is still around! It's just suffered from a lot of drops lately (the majority of the roster, to be honest), and like you said, they're more of a "if you need something done, ask us and we'll help out" group than the Blue Rogues, who were more focused on actively initiating things. Emil has offered the assistance of BV to several people for various things, but it hasn't panned out for one reason or another.

I do plan on doing a post advertising it and trying to get some new members after this coming app cycle, which will hopefully be a chance to get it more active and out there again.

does it feel like military takeover to anyone else?

no? it's more like establishing a squad for defensive purposes than anything else, which makes a lot of ic sense after zompano's invasion a few months ago. tbh i'm surprised no one has tried to do something like it sooner but i guess none of the characters felt there was a real need for it before that happened.

it's a good idea given how many characters there are in luceti with some sort of military or combat background. why not get them all working together?

From the description it looks like it's setting out to do what every past group has done. It wants to be a defense group like the Blue Rogues and a special alliance like the White Lotus started out as with that intelligence agency that was DOA, but train people like that Battle School and do civilian projects kinda similar to Brave Vesperia but not quite the Brigade.

It's not a bad idea, but I don't know if I'd call it a good one. I think it's too ambitious, like someone else said. It'll be depending on thrice as many people as the past groups were, and drops and inactivty have always been what's made groups like these fail in the past.

It looks like they have a plan for Leadership, so even if there are drops there will be someone to pick up the reigns and keep people interested. It has a big enough starting base that drops and inactive characters shouldn't be too much of an issue at first and with any luck the group will have enough momentum to keep picking up new characters over time.

Like it's been said though, the plan for the alliance covers a lot. It handles all things battle and intel gathering related, has smithies and healers covered with collecting/making weapons and medical equipment and on top of that wants a better quality of life for the enclosure, wants civilians to have access to better technology (so techies are covered too) and wants to improve education and handle community projects. You could probably add the school and a few other shops and services under the things the Alliance has covered.

It's great that there's so much for people to do so just about anyone could up and join, but with so much they want to do even with the number of people they have now they're going to be spread pretty thin. Kakashi mun seems to have a real handle on what they're doing though, so I imagine everything will work out for the best.

the leadership is the part that bugs me. it looks to me that the intent is whoever ends up speaking for this alliance will speak for the village. that's problematic.

then you're probably reading too much into it. i can't see the mods allowing that to be the case.

it does feel a little like some sort of takeover given how much the alliance is going to do. but hey, so long as characters who dont want to get involved have plenty to do without running into the alliance then its fine.

well, since it involves so many characters and casts you may have trouble avoiding it entirely. i know my character isn't interested but i have cr with some of the characters who are.

it will only be a problem if mods (who i trust are smart enough not to) start giving the alliance preferential treatment when it comes to plotting.

i dont think the mods will do something like that. as far as i know they havent given any of the other groups special treatment in the past.

It doesn't feel like a takeover to me, but I'll be fine if my character can do things or join other groups without those groups/purposes of those groups being absorbed into the Alliance.

they aren't taking over anything, and there isn't anything to take over anyway. and they aren't forcing your character to participate or be involved so no not really.
