Unfunny wanky stereotypes

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. is there anything more annoying than rp special snowflake tittybabies whining about how hard it is to work 40 hours a week? welcome to life jfc.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-24 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
working can be hard, though, especially if you have a shitty retail job. working in those conditions is difficult and stressful.

no one's obligated to like working and they're certainly justified in whining about it to blow off steam if they have a particularly difficult or annoying job

welcome to people being human, not robots

40 hours a week is the norm in america, yeah, but in a lot of other first-world countries that's considered absurd.

like da said, working retail that many hours usually sucks ass. 40 hours a week of dealing with random people all day? they have a right to complain. doesn't make them a special snowflake tittybaby unless you want to consider pretty much the entire working world special snowflake tittybabies because everyone feels overworked sometimes.

OP, let me let you in on a little secret: "bitching about your job" is right up there with the weather on the list of universally acceptable topics of conversation.

Letting off a little steam about shitty working conditions and bosses so you can keep the fake smile on your face on the clock is sometimes the only way to cope.

maybe in this brave new world of employers stalking facebooks people have lost their sense of personal space, but complaining about work is practically a tradition

(Anonymous) 2014-02-24 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
my job is stressful as shit so i'm going to complain about it all i want

(Anonymous) 2014-02-24 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
you sound like someone who's either never had a job or only worked part-time.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-24 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
this was my thought as well

working is a necessity. it doesn't make it all rainbow and sunshine. a shitty job can take its toll on your emotional and mental wellbeing over time. if you don't get that, you've either never had a job, or are one of those unicorns with a job that magically never sucks.

Or had a very cushy job. I work 50 hour weeks but at least half of that is just sitting around watching little girls play with barbies, dance, and watch movies. Full time babysitting is much nicer than expected.

laughing at all of these defensive anons.

its fine to hate your job or complain about it but you're not a martyr because you have to work 9-5 (or more) like most of the united states does.

That the labor conditions in the U.S are fucked but 'everyone else in the U.S has to work those hours' doesn't mean those hours aren't stressful/ridiculous. I've been flat-out told by my doctor I shouldn't work more than 20 hours a week due to my medical conditions but what do you know, no one wants to hire anyone that works that little.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-24 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
but that's not what i said. i never said the conditions weren't ridiculous/fucked, only that nearly everyone else in the working population is also being subjected to them and so those conditions don't make someone a martyr like some people act like they are. i get it, i also have a shitty stressful job but so do most people, i'm not special for enduring it.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-24 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
maybe they don't want to be martyrs. maybe their complaining has nothing to do with you. maybe they just want to bitch because it feels good to bitch about enduring things that sometimes suck. the fact that it's commonly endured doesn't change the negative toll it can have on your psychological/emotional health.

just because other people have to go through it doesn't mean no one has the right to complain, wtf

(Anonymous) 2014-02-24 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
>its fine to hate your job or complain about it

good because that's what most of us do. there's no being a martyr to it most of the time. actually what i've found is that basementdwellers who work 5 hour shifts maybe once or twice a week are usually the ones with the martyr complexes.

I've noticed that too. they also act like its a big deal to have a job. but I've also seen people with fulltime jobs complain about how unfair it is they have to work and that the job doesn't accommodate all their needs and desires beyond just "my job is boring/our customers suck". I assumed that's what op meant.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-25 06:57 am (UTC)(link)
this. there's a big difference between complaining about aspects of your job that you dislike and complaining that you're expected to work, period. the first is normal, everyone does it. the second is ridiculously childish.

yes, 99% of people will have to work at some point in their life. grow up and do it and stop acting like you're ~so~ ~put upon~ to have to work.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-24 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
you still sound like someone who's either never had a job or only worked part-time.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-24 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"is there anything more annoying than people reasonably complaining about things that usually suck?"

go hang out by yourself in the perfect jobs corner shitbag

(Anonymous) 2014-02-24 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, and that's special snowflake tittybabies who act like being upset about something and blowing off some steam is inappropriate and you need to sit down and shut the goddamn fuck up how dare you complain about your life.

And if there's mitigating circumstances like the person you're specifically complaining about has one of those cushy perfect dream jobs in which they get paid insane amounts of money to do something awesome and yet they bitch about the hours or they pluck once a day about their shitty goddamn job but haven't done anything to fix it and it's gotten old say that the next time you put up a post.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-25 08:03 am (UTC)(link)
i work 50-60 hours, do i get to complain? how many hours do you have to work until you get the right to complain about the terrible but necessary thing called work?

and, how many hours do YOU work?
