Unfunny wanky stereotypes

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

yeah, there are lots of stuff on rufftoon's blog and da page. it was from her that i learned books and movie were made at the same time (it wasn't like httyd or shrek where they found a book and said hey let's adapt this). when she published one of the pitch comics she even mentions something in the lines of "i know he's different from the books but this pitch is the one that counts for me because we didn't fully have the books back then and this is what we worked for" (not exact quote, talking from memory here)

but as you said, she isn't a higher up, and hey, she alls her comics "fancomics" herself. so yeah, the status of this so far is "unknown" and both sides are right in doing their thing.

be careful around tumblr, though, since they took joyce's inspiration quote from the dvd and interpreted whatever they wanted from it (aka canon+movie=same universe being canon)

btw, rufttoon uploaded new pages for her north comic today! :D

She is so ridiculously talented; I've been following her since her ATLA days and she's only gotten better. Reading her comics is actually what got me interested in the canon in the first place; I'd played with RPers from it and had a lot of fun, but hadn't had much drive to actually watch the movie or read the books until I looked more into her stuff.

+1

she was one of the storyboard artists for the movie iirc? but yeah either way she really is great, i love her works and it was a lovely surprise to see that new north comic

somewhat leaning more towards the topic of the thread, i personally take rufftoon's comics for movie canon simply because they don't immediately contradict any of the movie's factors, and that's what i play from. but yeah, either way it really is a vague line between the two verses, and i don't mind other people that don't take the comics into account. i still think they really help flesh some factors of the characters regardless, though. holds the one she did for jack close to my bosom tbh
