I have no idea whether this actually makes sense, but it seems like the characters who always get namedropped are the silly ones. It's easy having fun with them just by watching. You don't necessarily have to have in-depth CR or be plotting with them.

Like an anon said a couple of posts ago, it looks like plenty of us just get the rest of our gushing out about the characters/CR/threads we're enjoying directly to the players.

That said, my favorites are Karl and Nick TBH.

Yeah I've noticed it's the ridiculous characters which makes me feel better about never being dropped haha. I'm just curious why people keep making a favorites thread if it's always just Octavia, Danny, Arthur, etc. that get namedropped. Seems kind of silly.

I agree with the sentiment, but if we're being real here, I think if you asked a lot of people in the game what their favorite stuff with Danny and Octavia is and the stuff that gets them namedropped, they'd link some goofy, funny stuff. Their dramatic stuff would be there too, but probably not as much.

I strongly doubt that anon was trying to dismiss them.

while the characters themselves may not be all ridiculous all the time, they usually are. and that's what people like about them. aside from their close CR, very few others give a damn about their seriousness.

they keep making a favorites thread in the hope that maybe, maybe now! someone will namedrop them.

ridiculous characters are dropped because they're easier to respond to and stupid antics are more noticable than drama. i have great serious stuff with my close cr and i'm not very interesting in reading other people's drama.

Honestly, I do like reading other people's drama, but other than that I agree with this. Silly stuff's more accessible and I prefer telling people I enjoy their serious stuff directly over shouting it from the rooftops.
