First episode has been released by Doremi!

Horrible font aside (which I understand is supposed to be a throwback to the first fansubs of Futari wa Pretty Cure, by another group), what did everyone think?

I really enjoyed the first episode! all those heartcatch references/homages work very well for me though I have seen some people complain. The designs look great in movement and the cgi is definitely much better this season which makes me more optimistic about the dancing battles.
Character wise I find Megumi very energetic and cute, she definitely seems more dynamic than Mana (actually she reminds me of Love a little, eager to help yet prone to mess up) and Hime is also very likeable. Some were complaining about Fortune yet it seemed like there is plot behind her outburst and even so a temper doesn't mean OMG RUINED FOREVER.

The opening is very catchy~ also they have wings integrated in their outfits, that's great.

i really like it! hime's my favorite, i love how dorky she is, as well as how earnest she is when it comes to fashion! her encouraging megumi to dress up cutely and her line about every girl being a gem were both great. and the other characters are enjoyable too! i'm looking forward to hime and megumi's friendship and teamwork growing, as well as getting to know yuko and iona more!

the cg in the ending is the best yet, and the ending song is super cute and catchy to boot! i've been listening to it ever since i finished the episode, it's a total earworm. the only real negative thought i have is that the animation looked kind of low-budget overall, i hope the series won't be plagued by too much QUALITY. also the encode could have been better, but maybe that was a problem with the raw used.

the episode didn't really blow me away or anything, but it was still lots of fun, and i can't wait for next week! this is going to be the first precure series that i keep up with on a weekly basis, so i'm especially excited.
