Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

they're both flaky as hell though and nearly constantly complain about how overwhelmed they are by simple things like tags

Tags are like some kind of horrible task they can barely complete judging by how they talk about them.

This is all true, but why does it matter? Together, the mods play five characters in a game with 150+ characters. I understand that it's frustrating in the case of the one mod, who plays two characters who both ought to have an more active presence in the game and who players might want CR with, but it isn't like there's a shortage of others to play with. And the mods are very active on the NPC/metaplot side of things.

They're two adults with full-time jobs and lives outside of the internet running a game for fun. They aren't unemployed. They don't live in their parents' basement. They're not getting paid to sit at home and churn out tags. I know it's frustrating to have inactive castmates, but the general opinion that mods need to be 100% active on the mod side, providing an endless stream of things for players to do so that they don't have to come up with stuff on their own, and 100% active on the player side, tagging absolutely everybody in the game all the time, is ridiculous and unrealistic. Just because they're mods doesn’t mean that they’re under any obligation to have fewer characters or be any faster or more inclusive than any other player.

As a game, I think we're really lucky to have mods that put this much time and effort into building and maintaining the game world we've got. If all the mods did was tag, people would be on here complaining about how boring the game was. It happened back in the fall when the mods went on their month and a half mod-hiatus. They were still around to tag as players, but the game went into an uproar because apparently a month and a half of trying to come up with their own stuff to do was impossible for players to handle. With only 24 hours in a day, you can’t have it both ways. If you want plot, Tu Shanshu is a good choice, but you’re going to have to sacrifice mod tags if you're not part of the group of people the mods want to tag and get your CR fix from the other characters in the game. If you want CR with all the characters present, maybe a game where the mods are less concerned about having a plot and more with just tagging would be a better fit for you.

I want to add or stress this somehow, but everything I would have said is covered.

mods are players too. all this vilifying of the mod team that's being done for things that everyone i have on plurk does waaaaaay more often (whining about tags/dropping threads/whatever the great rp sin of the week is) is kind of disgusting. i don't agree with all their shit and they are nowhere near being 'perfect' mods and i don't go out of my way to have cr with either of them, but these are some unreachable standards anons are trying to hold them to. it almost makes me want to like them out of sheer spite.

i've seen 'flaky' mean a lot of things around anoncomms, can you clarify what you mean?
