Late to the last thread on this...are there any RPers on Gilgamesh outside of myself?

I'm wondering this but for Shiva, myself. My roommies and I are trying to get a regular light/full party together.

I have an character on Balmung but i'm really wondering whether anyone else is on Odin.

Change of topic, but does anyone roleplay criminals on FFXIV?

Like, are there criminal Free Companies on Balmung or something? I know you can't really "break the law" or cause trouble within the confines of the FFXIV programming but... y'know, imagination.

I wish. I would give anything to RP out a group going around as criminals.

Unfortunately getting an RP group together when you're not level 50 is a nightmare.

Really? Aside from the whole "can't go to any of the high-level areas" thing, what makes it hard?

I just apparently have terrible luck finding the actual RP crowd. Most of the people I seem to run into are more dungeon focused. And the RPers I run into would rather spend their time in the high-levelled areas.

Could be a time of day thing I guess.

That's a real pity. I had been told that Balmung was one of the more active RP servers so I thought you'd be tripping over people there.

I'm sure it's meant to be. Probably just my terrible luck and i'm on when all the RPers are asleep or otherwise busy with dungeon runs or something.

I had really awful luck with Balmung myself - Gilgamesh was pretty easy for me to find RP in, and now I can't stop >w<

I'd be happy to pull you in if you were ever up for a change of server!

Do pirates count? My FC is pretty much "We're pirates!" and I'm pretty sure the plan of action for when we get our FC housing is "make it look like we've plundered a bunch of treasure!!"

Roleplay is something that can happen in our FC, but it generally doesn't. Definitely not against it.

...whoops, should add that when we do the treasure map thing, all of us who do map runs have pirate gear - not the stuff from Sastasha, but we have high-level crafted stuff for treasure hunts.

That does sound awesome, but I was thinking of something more domestic: somewhere between "petty street gang" and "mmmm, organised crime".

I had a look on http://www.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/ and there are a surprising number of criminal/evil free companies out there. I'm not interested in the ones that tout themselves as "ancient conspiracies of evil and doom" though.

I'm thinking about it, but I'm a complete newbie when it comes to actually roleplaying in an MMO.

I have a Lv.50 on Sarg so I know how to play the game. And I have lots of roleplaying accounts on DW so I know how to roleplay. But I'm not sure where to start roleplaying in FFXIV, beyond "make a character on Balmung". Like, what are the best spots for recruitment, are there any faux pas I should avoid, how OOC is handled, and so forth.

There must be some newbie guides out there though, so I can start with those.

Midgardsormr! Probably the only person there, so haha. Kinda looking to transfer my alt to another server to meet up with people, but I'm worried about finding a progression group on an entirely new server.
