He's not a very outgoing character. It's not like he'd be comfortable broadcasting his day to day life to the world. So it's IC for him to specifically spend time with the people he's already comfortable with.

It's not distasteful. Do you feel left out? Like you're missing out on the CR you could be having?

And yet he's one of the most active characters in the game. He has long, CR building threads with a LOT of people, so private posts aren't necessary. I don't care about the backdating, but making private posts on the main comm reeks of attention whoring. Yea, we know you're having pretendy fun times where only you and your one or two other close CR are invited. Take that shit to an IC inbox.

Then we can agree to disagree. I still see no point in publicly making a show of private CR when you could just as easily link to an inbox elsewhere. It clutters up the main comm.

so where are they supposed to link to their inbox? i don't know tt's rules, but unless it explicitly states 'no private shit in comms', who cares? some people like to read other people's threads. you might not give a crap about this character and who they're playing with, but other people might like an easily accessible place to find them.

does tt rely on inbox posts? can you use them as ac?

calm down, anon. that was my first post in this thread and was an honest question. your opinions are obviously not everyone's since someone below you just said they actually like reading this person's threads. plurk doesn't reach everyone and it's a game. it's supposed to be accessible to everyone that plays in it.

whether anyone else is involved or not, point is that a) plurk is not a legitimate part of the game and therefore not everyone should have to use it for game shit if they don't want to. b) it's part of the game and therefore should be played IN THE COMMS, especially if they intend to possibly use it for AC, which anon below pointed out can't happen if it's in an inbox.

now i know you're overinvested. i'm not in the game, don't know the character, don't care about either. i just think being this asspained over something that MULTIPLE FUCKING PEOPLE DO is stupid. if that many people are doing it, then it's a thing. it's there to stay. unless the tt mods feel like making inboxes available for ac, people are probably still going to do it. whether it or any of the posts that are geared towards people that aren't you, be it one char or eight, it's not going to overload the comm. if you are so fucking lazy that you can't scroll past the, what, one or two that may or may not be on the front page at any given time, you need to rethink the fact that you're in a hobby with other people who do things differently than you do.

I'm not in the game either and I think it's a valid complaint. Kind of raising my eyebrows at the people who are screaming WE WILL HAVE ALL THE LOCKED POSTS WE WANT so hard that their spittle is flying.

if it's that valid of a complaint, why not have people in the game suggest to the mods to change ac to make ic inbox threads viable for AC? because no one really wants to play out a long involved thread that they can use for the game they're in outside of it that doesn't count for the game.

Agreed. That's some serious asspain about something that happen in EVERY game ever.

It's not hurting anyone. People are asschafed about it, but I don't see anyone complaining that their character development is being hurt by it.

this has been my huge issue with tt. i'm a fairly recent new player (I joined up a couple months ago) and i find it EXTREMELY difficult to find new CR. it's not that i'm not trying to tag out, i'm really LOOKING for people to tag. however so many people make posts that, while not necessarily closed, are clearly only things that people who have CR with them previously would care about.

i really wish people posting would maybe be a touch more considerate towards those looking for new cr and maybe try and come up with some sort of hook that someone new can grab onto. it's very frustrating because i really want to like this game and stay but the playerbase isn't helping much and i feel like i'm really struggling to get stuff for ac.

Are you uncomfortable posting in open logs? Because there have been plenty of open logs for people to stumble into new CR.

Give us a hint. Without giving away who your character is, tell us what your charater would even care about?

Maybe if other TT anons know what would appeal to new people, they might include it in future posts.

Like there are so many posts that are oh hey guys if anyone's wondering i made it here safely! Or hey I've decided to go with so and so's faction. Or hey if you knew these people they're gone now. These kind of things are only really relevant if there is already CR in place. A character that has no idea who these people are will literally give absolutely no shits about this stranger. I'm not saying this is all the posts, but there is a big majority that fall into this. And this doesn't mean I don't think these sorts of posts should be made, but it honestly wouldn't be too difficult to add something else there that could hook new CR. Open ended questions that anyone could answer, statements or facts or offers that other people would be interested in.

Open logs are difficult too. As the anon so cutely asked before, they're not something I'm afraid of. But all the traveling shit that's been going on literally everyone has been all over the map lately my character wouldn't even be in the same neighborhood as some of the posts I'd love to tag. And now with people splitting up even more? again? (I am so confused with these mod controlled factions or whatever this is supposed to be) This seems like it'll make getting CR via logs even more difficult.

IDK it's like the playerbase isn't helping and everything the mods put out seems to be making things even more of a clusterfuck and it's annoying and frustrating.

As a player I apologize that you feel this way and will do my best to make some more open ended posts soon. There's nothing I hate more then being on the outside looking in. Just know that I don't believe this was purposeful, just an unfortunate and confusing time in the game.

I've been feeling the same about the "I'm here!" posts and about the logs. Most of them, I want to tag but can't because they're too far away from my character.

Sorry you feel that way, anon. I try to include interesting things in every post for new CR to reply to anyway, but I'll try to keep newbies in mind next time.

The event is coming up the 28th and the 2nd is going to start a new plot. I'm crossing my fingers that you'll find more interesting things to repy to very soon, anon.

No, inbox posts do not count to AC.

And I enjoy reading Cams posts even if my character wouldn't interact well with him.
