Not exactly an ocean theme, but Free! is all about a swimming club and there's several episodes where they practice swimming out on the ocean. Lots and lots of pretty water animation.

You've probably already seen this but there's also Ponyo. Not the best of Miyazaki's movies by any stretch of the imagination but still enjoyable, and again, reeeeeally pretty water animation.

Star Driver is set on an island, so there's a lot of time spent on the beach and the ocean. Not slice of life, though, it's a mech show.

I think you've already seen the best things I could recommend, so that's all I've got. :( Sorry anon!

seconding Free! and Star Driver

Free! is a pretty-boy sports anime but if you're into water then you will get so much of it. Literally. The main character is constantly talking about being in a pool or the ocean and more than 50% of the anime is spent in sparkling beautiful water scenes.

Star Driver has the beachy feel and is part school life and part ridiculous giant robots. The hero of the story is a "Galactic Pretty Boy" and their robots run on "libido" sooooo it's a little different that normal robot anime.

(Un)fortunately, I've already seen Free! and Star Driver. Loved 'em, too. It's been a while since I've watched ol' SD, though...

But thanks for reminding me that I haven't seen Ponyo yet! Which I kind of can't believe, since I'm a huge Studio Ghibli fangirl. In fact, one of the reasons I was looking into ocean-y recs was because I'd rewatched From Up on Poppy Hill and loved its locale.
