so what does everyone here keyword their icons with? i just made a new account and i'm stumped for ideas

I'm too lazy to waste time naming them.

Besides, I use the browse option so it's not as though I need the words. I just scroll through and actually look at them.

can't be arsed to rename everything when there's a browse feature and I can see what I'm getting without needing word associations for it

A button shows up right next to the icon drop down that literally just says 'browse'.

lyrics, sometimes i use things relevant to my character (one of my characters has a spider theme, so i keyword her icons with spider species, another likes romcoms, so all my keywords are romcom titles), other times i'll use quotes from stuff i think is funny + vaguely relevant to my character, and if all else fails i use numbers.

sometimes im lazy and just go 01, 02, 03, 04

other times i use song lyrics or quotes the character said in their canon

i just describe the expression so i can choose an icon quickly... i thought that was what most people did. song lyrics are so ljrp circa 2008.

personally i like connecting keywords with things related to my character - like my girl who likes guns has types of guns as her keywords, my guy who digs soccer has famous soccer players, my detective account uses old famous detectives, my chemistry teacher has random relevant science terminology, shit like that

it's a fun thing to do and i like researching and learning things like car parts or bone names or whatever, but i honestly don't think it's a big deal to just leave them blank

i choose simple 1/2 words so i know what i'm picking

Simply: expressions. That way, if I find/make a better icon, I can easily replace them and all my old threads still have icons that show the correct expression.

my character doesn't have a wide array of expressions, so if i keyworded my icons descriptively i'd have 'stoic' 'more stoic' 'slightly annoyed' 'stoic at a slightly different angle'

so i use stupid jokes and song lyrics instead because they're more memorable and easy to differentiate

I get that the keywords themselves are easier to differentiate that way, but how do you remember which one belongs to which icon if they (the images) are so similar?

repeated use helps. i just learn that "stupid joke #1" goes with this icon and "song lyric #2" goes with another.
