but personality sections aren't like structured essays at all. they don't have a thesis that you're trying to prove/back up, you're literally just describing the character to someone who isn't familiar with them. how can you rp a character if you can't even describe what kind of person they are?

so, it's my first time making a meme. i want to make one based on crack pairings and crack shipping. i'm just wondering, how do you guys go about making prompts or even deciding if a meme needs prompts?

is it better to make them meme specific or is there a place where i can go that has common prompts or something?

I like this, actually... I like this a lot. I'm one of those people who feels like I'm constantly struggling to decide which details I should include and which ones I should exclude when I write my personality sections in order to keep it from becoming redundant or bloated, but if we did things the way you describe them, the canon can speak for itself. I could cover everything and give solid context for it, to boot.

crab's set and i'd be looking for around that many icons/variation of expressions. unfortunately, i'd be too poor to actually afford that many, i think, since many people charge $5 an icon i think. why am i so poor. i'd draw them myself if i had any skill tbh, and there are plenty of icons of this character, i'd just rather have a custom set.

People usually prefer prompts. Memes without them only really pick up if they have a very open premise. I'd go as far as to suggest any meme you can't think of ten prompts for, excluding 'wild card' isn't going to get much use. Think about the meme's focus and just do some research, it's not too hard.

Because using "meme" in this sense is technically correct? Consider the nuances of that definition and just how "writing prompts" function as an element of DWRP culture (and fandom! remember the writing comms back on LJ with numbered prompts?), and you'll have your answer.

if someone wants to experiment with their identity the internet is so shapeless and easy that i cant blame them for using it as an outlet.

I'm super pleased with the increase in female characters, but ngl, I just want Little Mac to be playable. They say they're including characters with a long history/strong connection with Nintendo, so I'm hopeful.
