Happy Holidays

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Accidentally giving people access to your journal and not realizing it for months is the worst...

it's not even someone I play with, I was just stalking one of their threads and accidentally clicked I guess. Awkward.

lol. happens to me so much. so awkward.

And that's better/different from sending a PM? I mean, what makes that better than the systems already there?

Plurk has it's faults, but it's a lot easier to throw up a Plurk tagged with your game, and have it there for *anyone* who might be interested.

there's a waiting list for every transplant and they have to think very carefully about who gets the latest new organ transplant. the amount of organs able to be transplanted is far outnumbered by the amount of people NEEDING a transplant, and doctors end up having to prioritize based on factors like age, lifestyle, etc. a fifty year old alcoholic is less likely to get a new liver than an eight year old that was poisoned.

I would gladly!

Sorry, I guess I didn't see it.

That's a shame. I app into a lot of games by looking at the wanted page to see if anyone I play is there. I'm sure other people do that too.

rping threesomes can be hard to keep everyone on top of but I'd be down for trying again if anyone wanted a go! I'd share my first attempt if it went anywhere. :( otherwise I don't have anything to toss your way, I haven't found anything myself. I play Levi!

OP didn't say the doctor said it was okay, they said the doctor didn't notice. What strikes me as odd and potentially skeevy is that organ transplants have a huge waiting list and recipients have to be approved by a board. They're supposed to look into things like overall health, drinking/smoking/drug habits, etc. So how did this guy get to the top of the list?

i'm bored and need a way to pass the time

Since ATP's just rolled around and I'm eying it. What does a newbie need to know about plot, pacing, ease of building CR, smutting, etc.?

1. where you live counts. donor organs are usually assigned by district (there's only so far you can transport fresh organs before they go bad, and getting patient, surgeon and organ in the right place at the right time can be a challenge). an available organ is going to go to the the first acceptable recipient who can get there in time. in a low-demand district, this person might be an alcoholic, or an old person, or someone with a secondary terminal condition, or someone who otherwise wouldn't be very high on the transplant lists in a high-demand area. they can attempt to fly organs around the country for critical surgeries, but in general, the longer an organ is on ice, the worse the outcome will be.

2. how much money you have counts. there are 200-some centers that determine whether a person gets onto waiting lists and how they're ranked. some of these centers take finances and insurance into account, some don't.

i'm sorry, anon. i do have friends but i've been in a place where i didn't, so i understand.

if you do want friends, though, you have to go out and get them. talk to the people you think have forgotten you, ask them how they're doing, ask them what they're interested in and try to relate. if you've never had a real friend, it's entirely possible you come off antisocial, cold, or otherwise distant and they didn't feel like you wanted them around. all you can do is reach out to everyone, make them laugh and feel appreciated and have fun with you, and you might end up having lots of friends before you know it.

It isn't really too difficult. Most other players are pretty good about not expecting a huge amount of knowledge. However, doing research will help a great deal. If you have something you want the Doctor to wax eloquent about, just look it up on the internet. It may not be 100% accurate, but most other players won't notice. If there's specific canon knowledge you're looking for, the TARDIS Wiki is usually helpful.

As for the plot holes, well...it just takes a bit of creativity. Sometimes you may need to just use Eight's unfortunate memory issues to get around it. The one thing I do know is that the whole "half-human" bit has been retconned out several times in all different media, and it's most often claimed to have been a trick Eight pulled on the Master. Who knows why he'd do that, but it's a way to get around it.

God no that Rise's awful. I've tried tagging with her and she gives you nothing to work off of in her tags. Like... your character and Rise are cooking then be prepared to write all of the action to carry the thread forward because she WON'T.
