Is it just me or are apps taking a lot longer this month? I know they're trying out that new system but I remember all of my characters being accepted within a few days the previous rounds, so eight days in with less than half the apps processed seems like a bit much.

Yes, yes they are. But isn't it just the main mods doing them now on top of all the other mod duties they do plus anything RL? I know Jade was dealing w/ being sick & a sick child and Lark is going on a hiatus. Hopefully apps will be cleared up soon.

The app page hasn't been update in a few days as well since Elena was accepted and is still showing as pending, so there may be a few more that are complete or in need of revisions that we don't know about.

i just wish they'd do more about the app problem in general. whenever i try to sell someone on ariel i always have him to admit right up front that apping's a pain in the ass and while the rubric could be a step in the right direction, it just seems like they're putting on a band-aid on something that should've been addressed a long time ago.

i get mods getting wrapped up in rl stuff, but the app process being the deterrent that it is really doesn't help in trying to encourage new blood into the game.

App process is the only thing I've never talked about with other people. AC? Hell yes. That the game is "slow"? Dear god every other conversation. That you have to be proactive and communicate? No shit...

But, I don't remember seeing anyone suggest anything when the mods asked and put up the poll regarding the app process. So let's be honest here, what do you suggest?

Actually any anon, what do you suggest and why didn't you bring this up to the mods in the first place instead of waiting to whine on an anon comm?

the rubric + getting more help would've been my suggestions. the first is being tried and i think they've been encouraged to seek the second in the past but i haven't been around as long as some others have so maybe i'm wrong on that.

i'm not trying to be whiny, but this is what an anon comm is for, to vent frustrations. and i do see the subject of apps thrown around, at least in my circle, as an issue, so it's certainly discussed. like i said, i have hopes we're heading in a better direction because at least now they've acknowledged the problem, but i definitely empathize with those who are frustrated with the slowness and i didn't even app this round.

we're going on less than one app done a day now

missing the cr meme really sucks but isn't so bad, but unless things speed up some people are going to miss half or more of their grace month

Actually they always give a longer grace period for apps that weren't accepted before the 15th of the month.

from AC post: For those accepted extremely late this month (anything later than the 15th), we will be treating next month as your first AC month.

ac status hasn't been looked at since at least the 27th of last month either. i don't know if there's other things going on behind the scenes, but i wish they'd ask for mod helpers if they're having this much of a problem with getting things seen to. i know rl trumps rp, but asking for help is okay.

i just refreshed the app status page and elena's was changed to completed within the last two minutes or so, so at least they're working on it?

Apps are now at 22/25/7...some of those are brand new apps that just came in in the last few hours, so maybe people just needed to be a little more patient?

I know for a fact that some of those apps are new since a couple of them are on my timeline and were just completing them, so they weren't just sitting there before.

tbh, i don't care why it's been updated. i'm just glad it has been. whether it's the weekend or not or whether they were tipped off to this thread, there were approvals that weren't added beforehand. i think they might just have been taking their time a bit as well since there's a sudden surge of completed apps now when it was at 4 before. so they either had a bunch sitting there waiting for approval or they forgot and needed to be reminded or they just prioritized other things over apps. idc what the answer is, i'm just glad things are moving now.

You do realize that the mods have lives outside of the game, right? They have jobs and kids and illnesses and hobbies and things to do. So every time you get your delicate little panties in a wad because you want your app done NOW NOW NOW why don't you look at all the other smut games there are and app at one of-

what the fuck is your problem? you're really late to the party here and all that overdefensiveness is really unnecessary. you're not making points others haven't and no one was saying they wanted their app done NOW NOW NOW, just that they wanted to hear back after over a week of no reply on things, which is entirely reasonable.

i like the mods but damn if you don't make them look bad by whiteknighting hardcore when none of them asked or need you to. settle down and stop acting like a brat.

Except there are still so many games out there that take longer to deal with apps. Reasonable would have been sending a message to the mods asking if there was an issue. Reasonable would have been looking over past app cycles and realizing how long some of those apps took.

No above anon isn't entirely reasonable either, but there are other things to do.
