TERMINAL TOKYO
(Anonymous) 2013-09-22 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)Re: TERMINAL TOKYO
(Anonymous) 2013-09-22 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)Say I want to take a slot for the upside down pyramid and say someone joins my character. We're just chatting along for 10, 20 comments or whatever and a third person wants to join. How does that even work? Yeah, say they were there the whole time being quiet but maybe characters are talking about private things they wouldn't share with others or maybe the character joining isn't a quiet person.
So yeah. I think sign ups would be better, or limit the character slots to two per mission at least for this post. I'm probably overthinking it but it's something I'm considering bringing up to the mods.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-22 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)Who are the good, reliable taggers? I've heard that while TT is fun, tag droppers are everywhere... Or are they still?
no subject
(Anonymous) 2013-09-23 03:53 am (UTC)(link)reliable: harley quinn, rin tousaka (backtags cause of a weird timezone?), waver velvet, mabel pines, dave strider, fluttershy (backtags), alexandria (oc), edward finklestein (oc, backtags), yu narukami, jinx, terra (backtags), hollyleaf, kaldurahm (but only if you tag them right away, they don't backtag), ryoga kamishiro (if they're still in game)
unreliable: sonati, clint barton, fuko ibuki, celestia ludenberg, campbell saunders, dante, elizabeth middleford, garrus vakarian, saori nakagawa, rise kujikawa (used to be reliable, haven't seen them in forever), beastboy, yoko, jin uzuki
stay away from: gideon gleeful (entitled player), lillet blan (player always drops stuff, they also play mami and sonati), tmnt, transformers (there's maybe 1-2 who will tag back for a little while but mostly squat), twewy (clique, drops threads with anyone who isn't a castmate), ff cast (same as the twewy and transformers cast)
tried to not list too many newbies unless they've made a good impression. think a few of these are idling out next ac.

Uh, my apologies but what exactly do you mean by this?
If it's about the whole "I originally wanted to re-app because I didn't like his partner choices" thing, I wouldn't really call that "entitled" as much as I was really picky and unsure, rather unnecessarily I will admit. It was, I fully confess, very dumb and paranoid of me and completely I regret it. I realize I do often get worried or worked up over little things but it's something I'm actively trying to work on.
Sorry you feel that way, though! I hope with my future actions I can change your mind.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-27 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)The fact that you realized it was a mistake is good! But it's better to take a step back when things like this happen instead of immediately jumping up to say "No no no" and causing people to think that about you.

I know that I can be a mite on the sporadic side with my tagging but a lot of that has to do with my personal life and I'm not going to apologize for it as a majority of people are unconcerned with this.
I also noticed that you avoided any kind of statement about the TMNT cast om regards as to why we should be stayed away from, I would like to know what that reasoning is, so that if it is something I can work on to improve my approach-ability I can do that.

I'm just gonna pop in and vouch for both Gideon's mun and the TMNT cast (heck, a lot if not ALL of the 'stay away froms' you mentioned are great rpers I thoroughly enjoy threading with so idk what the problem there is) since I was listed as a reliable player. (In fact, I'm not a newbie. I also play Hiccup, so I've been in the game since it started.)
The situation with Gideon was handled in an extremely professional and satisfactory way for both parties involved. Really, it's not exactly fair to say 'you should avoid this person or these people because this thing happened' when you don't really know the situation in it's entirety! There are no hard feelings between anyone, actually.
So yes, while I thank you for listing me on your 'reliable' list, a lot of what's listed here is a little iffy to me.
Re: TERMINAL TOKYO
(Anonymous) 2013-09-23 12:42 pm (UTC)(link)However I am going to preface this with if you want deets, go to the tags and look for yourself. I did for these and have threaded with all of them one way or another, but it's nice to confirm for yourself.
Here are the tag pages so you can see:
Network: http://themainframe.dreamwidth.org/tag/
Log: http://thefolder.dreamwidth.org/tag/
Keep in mind that just because someone has a high tag count doesn't mean everything. They might drop threads a lot, so go investigate.
Harley Quinn and Beastboy: Both played by the same mun and both sitting on the fence about being IC. The fact that the he keeps applying for Azula and can't seem to grasp the fact he has no idea how to play someone with mental disorders is a little disturbing. He probably has no business playing Harley. I would suspect the mods let him in because they're friends but since they've rejected his Azula app twice now, I guess not. And completely unrelated to how they play, I don't think he's ever put his character tag in things he comments, though a lot of people don't. It just shows carelessness when he never does it, though. He does tag back pretty reliably though, but it's set off balance by the OOCness.
Neku Sakuraba and Yu Narukami: The biggest flake in the game no matter which one of her characters you're tagging. Someone with way too much time on their hands went through all of Neku's threads from last month to the start of the game and came up with about 80% of every thread is dropped by the mun. Sometimes she'll just not tag back at all but she'll usually give you two or three comments before dropping you like a hot brick.
Campbell Saunders, Juri Katou, Terra and Hollyleaf: Reliable backtagger and usually pretty fast with tags. The mun is also a mod so of course sometimes her RPing has to take a backseat to modding. On the other hand, while she's reliable she plays so many characters while modding that a lot of her characters tend to sound the same. I think they're all IC in terms of actions but it would be hard to tell who's speaking without any context.
Rise Kujikawa: The anon was spot on with her. A few weeks/months ago, she was reliable and active but now she's faded away into obscurity.
Perry the Platypus: Active in the game for such a niche character. Fun to thread with and tags back.
Devil May Cry: Dante is pretty active and reliable at tagging. Vergil has only tagged two people outside his post since his arrival. Both seem pretty IC to me though so that's always a good thing. Dante is the one who hosted the party last week to allow the characters to recuperate. He also hosted the after party where drunken shenanigans happened.
Final Fantasy: Contrary to anon's opinions, they do tag people outside the cast. Laguna and Larsa are newer and haven't tagged out much yet. Laguna's good at tagging fast and Larsa's good at backtagging. The rest of 8's cast is Squall and Seifer and if anyone were going to make a complaint it would probably be that two of the most antisocial characters in the game talk to people too much. I think Squall and Seifer come off as cliquey to some people because they thread together a lot and the two of the them can do a 140 comment log in a day, but they both tag fast, plus they have lengthy threads with outside CR frequently. Basically 8's threads keep going until the other person drops it.
OCs: Alexandria: She's very active and very involved with the plot. Generally after a plot event Alexandria will be the one making a post to get all the information about it in one place. She's been in the game a long time so she's racked up lots of CR and tags.
Bonsai: Been in the game for 2 months and only tagged 11 people, so take that as you will. Some people think that's slow and others think it's fast. It's all a matter of opinion. I haven't really seen Bonsai around much personally so it's hard to say much else.
Edward Finklestein: The same as Alexandria in a way. He's very active, involved in the plot and will tag back for mostly forever.
Rōze Ichishi: She hasn't been in the game that long but she's already pretty involved. She tags fast, is reliable and I don't think I've ever seen her drop threads. I find her threads fun to read.
Saori Nakagawa: She's back again. Wasn't very active the first time but she's gotten better.
Transformers: It's a biiiig cast all together. Arcee and Wheeljack tag out the most, but they've also been in the game the longest. Again contrary to anon's opinions, I think they tag people outside of their casts just fine. With such a big cast, you have to remember that they need to tag each other as well as outside the cast and I really do think they manage that.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: All three of them tag out. A lot. They're fun to tag with so I have no idea with the anon's beef with them is. I've never personally had a thread dropped with them. Leatherhead's been in the game the longest so of course he's going to have the most tags. In my opinion all of them are pretty IC and I've never sat here raising an eyebrow at something one of them did.
tl;dr: We still have a few flakes but overall it's gotten much much better. The only really noticeable flake anymore is Neku/Yu.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-23 04:02 am (UTC)(link)-events run more smoothly than they have before
-mods are open to suggestions
-mods are easy to work with for player plots
-cresting is smoother
-people have gotten better at playing their digimon
-the mod team has really shaped up
-the game is getting progressively better
bad things:
-they let players walk over them (remember that gideon ordeal)
-weird decisions involving mission logs (upthread)
-a lot of players get away with squatting and thread dropping (they should just boot players instead of allowing them a second chance)
-jobs are a mixed bag since they changed how the system works: you can see the post http://themainframe.dreamwidth.org/101241.html and a number of people who signed up never tagged it to interact
-there are players who hog event threads/plans and will not include others
-the plot is nonexistent for now
-npcs can be slow or drop threads
overall the game is good if you're into slice of life with digimon stuff and find the right players to thread with

Okay I realize I'm super late to this (most likely) but I still wanna stick up for myself and the mods here - I spoke to them after I had concerns about Gideon's partner and really, all they did was put my worries at ease. I didn't "walk all over them" - nothing like that happened! I had (as I realize now, highly unnecessary) worries, so I spoke to them, and they helped me see and understand things better from their point of view.
In the end the mods never made any kind of exception for me, or let me "walk all over them" or anything that could even resemble that. They were nothing but understanding and helpful and really, what they did was knock some sense into me so I could stop being a paranoid twit.
I'm sorry this may have lead to a misunderstanding! I do regret being so fussy and picky before but I'm actively working on not getting worked up over little things that don't matter, something I fully realize I do a LOT and want to improve on. I don't want any bad impressions left about the mods due to what happened - they are WONDERFUL people and I only have nice things to say about them.
