rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Isn't that why memes exist, though? To give people ideas? It can be hard to come up with ideas for a crosscanon PSL, especially with someone you don't know.

tbh i think those are kind of sad when they spell out exactly what people should be doing, but they do serve a purpose in being goofy out of game fun with no strings attached.

idk, i guess i've never had that much trouble. almost all the psls i've ever done have been cross-canon in AUs.

for serious, long-term crosscanon psls with my best friends, i'm happy to put a lot of work into the worldbuilding. we sometimes come up with a whole game's worth of background info and research so we can keep throwing more and more characters into the setting.

i'd like to play with more people, but games suck these days and i can't get into memes because they feel so shallow ("no strings attached" seems to mean "drop threads like they're hot"). i want something with a little more commitment and a little more satisfaction than that. so it would be great to be able to quickly run down a list of ideas with a potential new psl partner, or even get our feet wet by playing some threads in a flexible premade setting.

you know how it is sometimes when you start playing with someone new... you're not really familiar with each other's characters or preferences yet, so it turns into a wishy-washy battle of "what do you want to do?" "no, what do you want to do?" and then you end up defaulting to boring slice-of-life.
