rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. Look up old threads in LJ.

So many deleted LJs.

I'm not the only one who ran around logging into all my LJs and adding extra posts to them so they wouldn't get deleted, right?

I spent hours logging into them and putting in new posts and making sure they all had more then 5 posts in the journal itself.

I still missed a few, but those were the ones I hadn't used at all.

I didn't really have to. Any of the ones I'd care about I played in a journal based game for a time.

What do you mean exactly? Are they in a process of deleting unused journals right now? I haven't heard anything of the sort. How long does the journal have to be unused for them to contact you?

Yes, they are. I think they're deleting journals that don't have more then a certain number of posts in the journal itself or haven't been logged into for a certain amount of time.

I'm not sure of the exact time.

I went and logged into all the journals I wanted to keep and added posts so there were more then 5, just to be sure.

You can also get them back if they're deleted but not purged yet if they're your journals, but you should hurry, they don't wait long I think.

I almost lost one I missed somehow, but got it back at the last moment.

Ok. Nobody has contacted me so I don't think my journals are in danger but I suppose I could make posts in each one just in case.

Do they have to be public posts?

I think private posts count, since they show up on the profile, but I'm not sure.

I did that too. I heard LJ going to erase all comments and posts posted from deleted journals too eventually, I'm not sure how long later, and I didn't want that to happen.

I'm considering it, but most if not all of my threads were moved with the rp move to DW and I claimed the open IDs so it doesn't seem like too much of a problem.
