latest chapter, or at least after her fight with magato

Okay, it's important to remember that a lot of personal blows have taken place in the space of a few days or so for her (or however time works in canon). There hasn't been a lot of drawn out detail about the spare ordeal with Fruhling other than her being the next vessel for Einstürzen and that segways into her losing control. That's a major jump from having some mental fortitude and having direction 20+ chapters ago to finding out it's possible to lose control and kill the very people you've sworn to protect.

Even with that added distress, she's still one of the most levelheaded members of the cast. Magato brings it up after the fight and somewhere before in relation to her name's meaning; something like 'straight blade'. She's calm and collected a lot and the times she isn't gets remarked upon such as her meeting Fruhling and lunging at her; I believe Heine says something it not being like her and the art does a fine job of showing how out of she is.

Anger stands out as the emotion she has to most trouble with holding back. It takes personal blows for it to surface, but it's hard to miss when her temper flares. Minor annoyances get a reaction, though not to a violent degree. She gets frustrated and nonverbally shows her distaste about it over vocally pointing out the origin of her frustrations.

Persistence has been one of her traits since the get go with hunting down who killed whom she thought were her parents, to vowing to protect, and the deal laid out between her and Heine about being last resorts. She's too persistent at times to the point of endangering herself, but far as I can recall all those times are when she lets emotions get the better of it.

Another key point as she's emotional as the rest of them and does a poor job of dealing with like the rest of them. Instead of lashing out, she's prone to silence and sort of spacing out in thought. Both of the aftermaths with Fruhling are pretty good indicators of this.

Unlike most of the cast, she's nice-er. It's a quiet reserved type of kindness and it's mostly prevalent with Nill or when she's trying to lend an ear for the few times it's came up.

There's a couple of minor points I didn't drag up, but they're not wholly important to her character unless the situation calls for it. Again the ordeal of being a spare and losing control are going to be on her mind, and that's going to put more importance on her mission and persistence in getting to the bottom of things.

i really appreciate this thought out response! it is a work of art anon, truly. this added stress was reason i wanted to take her from that canon point because there is so much has been happening with her and yet she's handling it.

also would it be too much to ask about the couple of minor points? sorry for being greedy, and please don't feel you have to elaborate if you don't want to! i'm very grateful for all these good points.

Deanoning so I'll get pinged and not forgot this is here.

Yea, the last couple of chapters have fleshed her personality out by leaps and bounds with making some head way in character development along with darn near everyone else; but kudos for fiddling with the idea of picking her up.

I have to blame that I was going to pick her up in a game and lost to time to leaving me with an idea how to go about writing for her. Still, thank you for the compliment anon.

The minor points are really minor and as I said situation is what calls for it. All the times it's brought up have been for humor, yet her attire can be seen as a character point as well as something that earns a out of the ordinary response. Her clothing is practical for the setting within artistic reasoning. It looks nice, but it's functional in movement and hiding a kitchen's worth of knives.

Flipside is how uncomfortable she looks when she's not wearing something practical. Not at one point does she wear something frilly because she wants to, it's either had to or did it as a means to distract; see when she puts on Liza's dress so Nill doesn't let on the heavy tension around them.

I say this for every character, but what isn't said is more important that what is. If you do a canon review, look at expressions and stances because there's degrees of difference there; which on a separate note, Miwa is a great at some subtlety when he wants to. Totally something that works for every medium to.

heine is a good character to pick up as well, wow. much love! though now i'm really curious to see how your naoto would have turned out.

and thank you for continuing to elaborate! i really appreciate it. truthfully, what i'm most concerned about is projecting all those nonverbal cues that are used so often in dogs. usually i'd just pick up badou and be done with it, but i think it would be more fun to go with a more reserved character. but thank you again for all your advice! i'll definitely keep it in mind while i'm reviewing canon.

No telling, though I did play her in a few memes some months ago. Nothing stellar was in them because I can't remember what they were.

Your welcome anon, least one can do to help!
