Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

I play from Chrono Crusade, which has a lot of Christian characters due to the nature of the setting. (Although they don't really fit any actual denomination because the mangaka used movies to "research" Christianity...) As for the "why" I'm a Christian, this is my favorite series and I think it's fun to get a chance to explore issues of faith through a character, particularly since the characters don't come with a lot of baggage that Christian characters in American media tend to have.

Other Christian characters I can think of:
A lot of the cast of Trinity Blood, IIRC it's post-apoc and the Catholic church is sort of ruling the world?

Some of the Hellsing characters

Saved! ....not really glowing depictions, but still.

In a similar vein, The Book of Mormon.

There's at least one Christian kid on Glee, right?

Lots and lots of (mostly horrible) Christian fiction out there if you want to go that route. (I'm tempted to try a character from Left Behind series after seeing the comment above me.) I'd kind of like to see people try a character from the Adventures In Odyssey series since, despite my many (many many many many) issues with Focus on the Family that's a normally fairly well-written show (or at least was when I was a kid), despite how preachy it can be at times.

Kaitou Saint Tail is set in a Catholic school and many of the kids are actually Catholic, I think?

The gag dub of Ghost Stories turns one of the characters into a harsh, Bible-obsessed girl.

Wolfwood from Trigun...kind of. The mangaka is actually Catholic, I've heard, so a lot of the weirder Christian-ish symbolism in that series is intentional.

I'm looking stuff up and apparently the main character in Haunted Junction is the son of a Protestant priest. Huh.

Kyoko from Madoka Magica grew up the daughter of a Christian minister, and she prays to God at one point.

I guess you could kind of sort of count characters from the Bruce Almighty/Evan Almighty movies. But why would you want to play from Evan Almighty that movie was horrible

I think one of the characters in Indigo Prophecy has a brother that's a priest of some kind, although I'm not sure if there's enough about him to be playable.

Geez, I swear there's got to be some modern characters that don't come from Christian fiction or anime that are labeled as Christians and they aren't a satire, bully or an outright villain but I honestly can't think of any off the top of my head. (But I watch anime and play video games more than anything, so that's probably a huge part of it.)

Wow, okay, that was structured badly. What I meant was "As for why I play Christian characters, I'm a Christian" etc.
