Big ass trees

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

If it makes a difference.

What I take from it is Name is still part of the game because they were already asked to handle the situation in a specific way and banning wasn't the only explicit option.

This seems reasonable to me, considering they seem to have been respecting the wishes of the victim. Particularly since if they had banned her, they would've had to be public about it and it would have been hard to do so without possibly violating Loki-mun's wishes.

Why don't people seem to get that the mods don't have to say shit about why someone was banned or even mention that the person was banned. If a ban happens, all the mods have to do is remove the player from the game. People will speculate all they want about it, but the mods don't need to say a damn thing.

what does it even matter now? the whole thing is public, everyone knows what happened, everyone knows it was name. this just comes across as slapping her on the wrist and I stand by what I said earlier, there is no point having her in the game anyway when people are STILL uncomfortable and will be avoiding her regardless, not to mention deterring potential applicants when we already have to deal with a sour reputation left from the last mod team.

maybe this would've worked before the situation exploded to the degree it has, but now it's just a closing the barn door scenario. sure it's great they decided to implement this policy... which should've been effect from the start. all I see from these mods is window dressing and a continued dropping of the ball, which doesn't bode well for the game as a whole.

It's hardly "everyone". Everyone that goes to the anon comms, maybe, but I had a bunch of people on my Plurk going "what happened??" when the rule post went up.

them saying that doesn't mean they don't go here, anon, and i'd even wager some of those people were the same ones stirring the pot behind the scenes. hell, we've had people who admitted to doing so before. there's a reason all of this spread so quickly and for something of this magnitude you'd have to be living under a rock NOT to know.

i still like playing here, but i'm not naive. the anon who said the ooc environment got extremely prickly after the mod fallout was 100% correct. it's pretty sad, but there's not much to be done about it.

No, that anon wasn't 100% correct. Right after that fallout the game was still the same for a time. Then it started growing real fast. That's when the OOC environment started to get prickly.

It's a fact of life no matter where you are. The larger a group is, the more likely drama and cattiness is bound to happen. That's just how people are and I really doubt things would be at all different if mod fallout didn't happen and the game still grew in the same way. This sort of thing happens in nearly every large game, it's actually stranger to not see this sort of thing happen to a larger game.

while i'm not entirely convinced that name shouldn't be banned, i can understand them trying to keep things quiet out of respect for the player.
