I threw my pie for you

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Cyclops for worst. But man I'd love to RP him except I can't decide which universe/so much comic development and retcon.

eh, cyclops gets a lot of shit, but he did briefly unite the mutant race, something even magneto and xavier couldn't do. he's a jerk, but he's a fucking brilliant leader. and with a good writer he's not even much of a jerk.

good writer = not claremont or fucking bendis

he didn't really unite them though. most of the people on utopia were only there because they thought they didn't have an option and would have taken off if they could. then the majority of them left and made an alternative just so they could get away from him.

saying he united the mutant race is at best a weak technicality.

here be spoilers

he did a much better job than any of the other x-men would have in that situation, imo. before the whole x-force debacle, he was doing a decent job of it. and when he does it so well that magneto sticks with him even after he went phoenix crazy and killed xavier, i think the point still stands that out of any of the x-men, he's the most effective leader and most skilled tactician. sometimes that means he's a dick, but keep in mind he was also militarized from a young age.

I'm actually really fond of Scott but he's gotten so much shit writing for the last...decade, at least. It's a shame.

+1

When did Whedon write him? Was it Astonishing?

I've been wanting to read that storyline but the comics sort of confused and overwhelmed me on that front.

edit: whoops, not anon, oh well! still interested anyway. :c
