Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Read Vengeance #1-6 for best Miss America characterization. Either use more Spanish slang or none at all. Gillen doesn't use any Spanish words besides loco once and chico. It's highly insulting. She either needs to use Spanish slang or not use it at all, not cliffnote the entire language to chico. Vengeance is a good example of how this is done.

Do not play her solely as the strong character that says she'll punch someone or kick someone's ass every five seconds. Round her off, make her have reasons and logic behind her motives and not throw those phrases out as simple reactions to simple things. Miss America isn't that simple. She's got a lot of thought and emotion kept inside her that she doesn't let out as much, but her words and phrases do reflect it and she doesn't express everything with the desire to hit it.

Gillen doesn't use those words because he actually finds it disrespectful and clichéd to portray a Hispanic character dropping those words when they wouldn't make sense. There is a reason for why he's not doing it and it's not meant to be insulting. It's to avoid being insulting.

I've seen chico at least once per issue. I don't know about the last three, I stopped because it was sickening to me that that was the only Spanish she ever said and I've only skimmed things sense. I'm sorry, but I was hugely insulted. He should just not use any Spanish if that's the case.

Above in this thread, it said it was editorially mandated that he had to use some, which is true. He'd rather use none.

If he has to use some then he should do some research into it and do it correctly. I don't care about what he does or doesn't want, what he's producing is an insult.
