Badly's an adverb

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

ITT: GAME IDEA YOU'D LOVE TO SEE REVIVED

Games that have closed and game idea threads that never went anywhere! Which would you like to see back?

anti-jamjars

Distant Skies was really good in that regard but then the mods just seemed to lose interest in keeping the overarcing plot going, and the players always seemed reluctant to always go to other worlds and spent way too much time just sitting around in Citigazze.

I think there was a similar game proposed based on the Chronicles of Amber that was like DS but more extreme?

Also, there was a game a while back called the Wake that had a really interesting premise that could have been (and I think was going to be, eventually) an anti-jamjar, but suffered from two drama-queen mods, who eventually had some stupid fight and both flounced (albeit at different times) but then once they left there was zero creative drive behind it and the new mods just didnt' seem to get the plot at fucking all and turned it into yet another weird lost-style mystery jamjar thing.

unfortunately that game is still around. i heard from a friend that's still in the game that the one founder-mod came back briefly to try to revive it but had some horrible mental breakdown and flounced again. it's a shame because I looked at it and I really feel like the premise (basically that everyone has the potential to break free of reality and become a god) is really cool, but as it stands it's wayyyy too restrictive and the mods don't really know how to make that plot interesting. I mean people haev the chance to become gods but they're still stuck in that one city doing nothing but bumming around and getting trolled by the city-god.

i'm slowly working out the framework for a game that's fairly space operatic - are there any particualr aspects of the genre you're interested in?
