Badly's an adverb

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

write more interesting posts and you can have this with any character at any game

i put as much thought into my posts as i possibly can and avoid all the don'ts so idk what else i could be doing wrong

putting thought into posts doesn't make them interesting anon. it could be a very well-thought-out and carefully constructed post, but that doesn't mean that it's going to hook a lot of people.

you need to be creative. make posts that are widely accessible to a lot of different character types without falling victim to the "survey" or "philosophical question" trap.

what i mean by saying that i put thought into them is that i do put forth a lot of effort to hook people and have something interesting for us to do. i don't make posts unless i feel like they're something unique to my character.

my problem isn't getting people to respond to my posts, but i feel like after they do, they don't want long term cr, idk. i don't feel like i suck spectacularly in comparison to the people that do get lots of people asking them for cr but maybe i do.

Should have fit a "-stuck" in there.

pick a character with a colorful personality at a game where their particular archetype is rare

then tag around

bonus if it's a popular canon

much as i love the reserved, more subtle characters myself, it's going to be the more overt and charming ones that have more excuses to tag around and provide much easier hooks

but really, tagging around consistently and being a good writer will generally trump all that other stuff

getting cr has nothing to do with how interesting your posts are, tbh. it has to do with how many friends you have in the game and whether or not you play from a popular canon.

so basically pick a character from a popular canon and app to a game that isn't already swamped with a cast from that canon.
