so i know people really basically only like fandom rp around here, but i have an idea for an originals rp that i think could be really interesting, ripped off from a book i read recently.

the idea is that it's 50 years in the future, and that increasingly severe hurricanes have been hitting the louisiana and mississippi coastlines since hurricane katrina, with little to no time for fema and other disaster relief agencies to help recover between them. as a result, the water has become infested with a supervirus that destroys blood cells and that requires a lot of transfusions in order to cure. after repeated attempts to get the virus under control, the united states washed its hands of louisiana and mississippi, and no longer governs them. because blood transfusions have become so necessary to survive, people have split into warring factions based on their blood types, with negatives and os hunted by positives. i think this could make a kind of awesome basis for a game, but i also think it wouldn't work as well with fandom characters as it would with originals... and yet rpers hate originals and always think they suck and have no depth... so do you think it might work with fandom characters? i just loved this idea.

I think it's an interesting concept (people hunting each other for blood transfusions) that would work with fandom characters, but I also think that DW is full of the kind of people who would only want to play O negatives, which would make it really fucking boring. Sorry anon.

But blood type is almost as popular as zodiac in Japan, I think, so if there's a canon sign, possibly there'll a canon blood type too. If not, types are asociated with certain personality trails, so would have to justify why your character has X type instead of Y type.

(That, of course, if you make it a fandom rp, although it could also apply to original rp)

That said, I really like the premise!

I also think this is one of the instances were randomization might work to group people. You're not denying people of a cool power or a certain kind of animal companion, just giving them a blood type and throwing them in a group. It might also force some CR that wouldn't happen normally.

i would play in this game in a heartbeat

i think it could work with fandom characters, as long as it was an AU game and not a jamjar.
