Badly's an adverb

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

I'm actually working my way through this one right now, and I think it's doing pretty good on those points... but then, I also enjoyed ASoIaF, so I'm probably not a good judge.

I will say, though, that so far there are no female characters of any importance, and he spent a good 3 paragraphs describing what one dude saw when he looked into the main vampire's eyes. (Gray like the deepest fog, full of anger, loneliness —) God, that had me laughing, and not in a good way. But I'm enjoying it enough to keep reading, and I would say it definitely has some of the Anne Rice vibe that I used to enjoy in hers.

Hmm. I do enjoy me some female characters but, having read Anne Rice, I'm perfectly used to female characters giving the shaft.

but omg, I kind of want to read that now just because of the 3 paragraphs of purple prose, overly detailed dumb descriptions are my weakness.

Then I think this book is definitely for you. :)
