Badly's an adverb

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Must haves in a preferences post?

As far as kink listing & any extra information, what do you like to see?

please be very clear about your consent preferences! i keep seeing people who say "no noncon," but then they'll list things like "mind control" and "sluttification" and "corruption"... which all sounds pretty noncon or at least dubcon to me. i'm personally pretty sketchy on dubcon and i don't want to play it at all, so i don't want people to spring it on me in the guise of some other kink.

It's more important to list your stance on the common kinks than the uncommon ones. Consent especially.

One thing that's uncommon, but that I like to see, is to denote if your character will have a specific reaction to having certain kinks used on them -- ie, things you the mun are open for, but that other muns doing certain things with your character will want to be aware of. "It's ok to tickle X, but be warned, your character might get a black eye out of it!" or "I am totally ok with playing this kink, but it's something that would wind up in a very dark place for my character, proceed with caution."

In general a good delineation of mun preferences vs character preferences.

be detailed without being over the top. if you don't want to play sex toys at all, don't say no dildos, no buttplugs, no vibrators, no vaginal toys, no anal toys, just say no sex toys. or if you have an exception, list that rather than listing all the things you don't want and leaving that exception out.

Like others said, just don't be vague and don't use terms that avoid referring to what something is. I eyeroll a lot if I see "bathroom stuff" listed. Yes, I know that normally refers to things involving urine and feces, but that sort of description is vague and gives an impression of not being all right with things within a bathroom and that becomes very broad. No one wants to make someone uncomfortable, but it's hard to keep things within preferences if the preferences are vague.
