rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Potential applicant here. What's the pace like in here since I can't check for myself? Is it as slow as Wankgate says it is or is it just an exaggeration?

No offense anon but we go through this every month...

1) there is a 3:1 ratio of days and the game is log heavy, so yes it is slower than most games--also depends on who you tag with and your tag style
2) do not believe everything you read on wg most of it is from the outside
3) the people are supper friendly and will communicate
4) you must be proactive in seeking out both CR and kinks/threads
5) yes gen CR does happen, but as AC requires so many smut threads they do get pushed aside at times

It's no problem!

There are a number of factors to take into account when talking about how fast or slow Ariel is:

- The IC to OOC day ratio is 3:1.
- The AC requirement means that the game is very log-focused.
- There are only a few new posts in the network and log comms per day.
- There are constant logs, monthly events, and most people I talk to in Ariel talk about how they have to learn to pace themselves because the urge is to DO ALL THE THINGS because there are so many options and then they get overloaded. (No, really, almost every person I've talked to has a moment in their second month in the game where they step back and go "I bit off more than I can chew" because there are so many opportunities and so many fun people to play with.)
- To get logs you must be proactive, reach out to people you've talked to, and communicate OOCly (plurk is not necessary, just communication.) If you aren't comfortable with that, you will have trouble keeping busy.

So is it fast in the standard network-focused DWRP way? No. Can you end up with all the RP you can handle and more? Yes.

Thanks a lot! Is it necessary to add people on plurk? I prefer to keep mine to people I know well enough but I'm good with plotting via private plurking messages/aim/pm and so forth.

As I said, it's not necessary. As long as you're open to communication, you're in good shape. I've had some great interactions plotted entirely through PMs.

There is a monthly CR/kink meme that is the best way to plot out things with everyone. And a group chat, which has been weirdly quiet the past few days but is usually very busy.

Everyone is really open to plotting things in whatever way each person is comfortable with.

this is funny. i'm coming up on month two.

i bit off more than i could chew. i think i'm adding another character to avoid burning this one out. a lot of it's not just opportunities, it's that things finish slowly enough that the temptation to do something else is always there.

at least i know i'm not alone.
