Hahaha!

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

I wouldn't even say you'd have to put it down to adrenaline. It's not weird to just want to have sex with someone, even if you don't know them and they're maybe a bit (okay, a lot) on the scary side of things. I'm not saying it's 100% safe, but one night stands happen like that, and they can even lead into more established relationships. (Also, any relationship with Derek Hale is never going to be 100% safe.)

The idea of her being in love with him might work better if we'd been given some more post-sex scenes of them interacting, but that's just straying into how poorly written and paced the last episode was (which didn't just effect Jennifer and Derek, tbh). As it is, I'd much rather have it as deliberately warped and wrapped up in the darach thing.

Would anyone willingly have a one-night stand with someone who for all intents and purposes looked like he was dying though?
Any sane, logically thinking person. Like a teacher.

I'm also starting to doubt the darach theory with her. Just because it seems way too obvious and I can't tell whether they've given up trying or whether it's a dilberate false lead.

I'm going to skip over the fact that you're assuming teachers have to be sane and logically thinking because lmfao.

But I think it's fair to say that there's a lot of things that make the sex scene creepy, both on Jennifer action's as well as for Jennifer (I personally found it deeply uncomfortable to watch because we know what a mess Derek is, and I just wanted her to leave and go find a nice normal guy to settle down with. Preferably far away from Beacon Hills). I just don't know how much we should look at those things as being intentional in terms of where the relationship is going/Jennifer's potential for having other roles in the general storyline (being the darach, being from Derek's past), or if it's just the reality suspension necessary to have a love story like that in the middle of a werewolf show. Or just plain poor writing.

I really don't mind obvious at this point. It'd be better than trying to make it even more complicated or rushed. And her ambiguity and lack of character depth being deliberate as a red herring is almost as insulting as her potentially being fridged for more Derek Hale manpain.
