I know this was probably just a joke but you do know that, historically, she was very likely the victim of slander, right? Because she's a woman and the only way to ruin a woman's reputation at that time (when women held no political power) was to accuse her of incest?

It's definitely canon in The Borgias (and the main reason I stopped watching the show), but to say this is "historical" is, in fact, sexist and victimizing, and continues to perpetuate a lie fabricated to ruin a woman's reputation over 400 years ago. So stop it.

Dude, chill, I was joking about her canon, wherein she will never find a husband she will love as she loves her brother. We're in an RP thread talking about an RPed version of Lucrezia Borgia from a fictionalized historical canon. I'm fully aware of all that gross actual-history shit. Sorry that wasn't clear!

Bonus counterpoint: there are prominent historians (like Sarah Bradford) who interpret Lucrezia and Cesare's relationship as intense and over-the-top without actually being incestuous. It is, arguably, historical.

Haha, it's all cool, I'm quite sure we both know each other... and you know how I feel about a lot of the shit in Borgias! :'( Season 3 of the Borgias really vexed me, and in a way I'm relieved that it's over, but in another way I wish we could have seen them wrap up all those story arcs and contextualize a lot of things better.

Someday there will be a fictionalized Borgias story that nails it... someday...
