Yer wonderful

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Am I the only one who gets annoyed with entries that are completely private to other characters? (not logs, entries)

Makes me feel like if they're calling a char out just use the inbox.

I saw this on flatview and already knew what it was about.

It probably should be in an inbox instead, but as long as people don't start making a habit out of it, I'm not too annoyed.

I'm less annoyed about that and more annoyed that Sherlock replied to it when they still have tags sitting unanswered in his post (including the guy the post is about). I guess I shouldn't be too surprised though, because when has Nemo ever been consistent about tagging anyone that wasn't Sanji, Conan, or John.

this annoys the shit out of me. We have an ic contact mechanic in this game for a reason.

PSA: There's no reason not to use ic inboxes when ic inbox threads count towards ac.

PSA to everyone in the game, anon I replied to. You probably already know this.

Some people mistakenly believe that they don't, even though it says so right there on the AC post.

Also h2h? Did you mean hth?

yeah it kind of comes off as "look at me and my CR with this character! i don't want to use the IC inbox because LOOK AT US"

i mean, why else would you not use it?

OP

That and the fact that's like (oh hey someone posted an entry! -reads to see if my characters would be interested)....oh wait.

Specially now that the comm seems to be in a lull right now. At other places I've always made sure to make some part of the entry readable to all, or made it "hackable" or what not.

Oh well. Glad to see I'm not alone.

I've seen people complain in other games about important plans/CR being made in private inbox threads, because it's harder for people to keep track of what's going on if there's important developments occurring off-comm. IDK if that's even an issue here, but if the players involved have come from games where that complaint's surfaced, that might explain why they're msking private entries on-comm.

yeah, i've been in one of those games. people did not like the private ic contacts being used. they wanted to know what was going on and everything posted in comm, to the extent that it eventually became a rule.
