Yer wonderful

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Homestead act?

I'd like to see a game set in the middle of nowhere, the only building in sight at first serving for a post office and land claim office. Their initial homestead's for free upon their claim, and the post office side of things has a few mail order catalogs available for perusal.

Characters start out with nothing but the clothes on their back and the player's choice of an ox-wagon of supplies and tools or $400 in their pocket.

Also everything is limited to the 1860s or so, technology wise, unless the characters can somehow figure out how to make more advanced stuff with the materials available. In other words, no network.

Things like disease and weather events would be mod controlled and in the case of the first also depend on how dumb the characters are.

I would join a game like this, provided that the rules were laid-back.
